SPEAKER_06:

Welcome back to another episode of the Broke Boys. I'm Martin. I'm DJ. And today we got a special guest. Please introduce yourself.

SPEAKER_07:

Hey y'all. I'm Adri.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes, so today's gonna be a really special one. We met Adri when we were doing dog days. Shout out to Keesy. Shout out to Keesy. Because he came and came in and showed us showcased us. Say hi to the drone. Say bye to the drone, wherever it's going. It's uh gonna be a completely new shot. We're right here at the rooftop? Where? This is the rooftop garage right across from the Czechansey Park.

SPEAKER_07:

Downtown Fresno.

SPEAKER_06:

And we've been just hitting check mark after check mark. Check mark the Czechansey. Already hit the garage. We already hit downtown. We hit some parts in tower.

SPEAKER_07:

There's so many places in downtown Fresno, I feel like it's just it's beautiful, like everywhere. There's so many shots.

SPEAKER_04:

I can't wait for the next episode because we have another location that I'm not gonna disclose yet. But just know it's gonna be next level.

SPEAKER_06:

It's gonna be a big one.

SPEAKER_04:

It's gonna be next level.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Well, before we continue, let's go ahead and let's roll the intro.

SPEAKER_00:

We done broke boys from the hood. We on the mesh is understood. We fly high, we butterfly up to the sky. No way you're catching us goodbye.

SPEAKER_06:

Adrian, it's been a blessing to meet you and seeing you and seeing the energy that you brought in during Dog Days. How you been? It's been so long that I've seen you.

SPEAKER_07:

I know. I haven't seen you yet since dog days. Um busy. I've been busy since then. I know it's been a lot, but obviously like opportunities, blessings that you know come with what we do. And so you just gotta take it and run with it.

SPEAKER_06:

And run with it.

SPEAKER_07:

So that's what I've been doing, but I've been running, like literally. Um, but yeah, there's just been a lot, and so just alone, just being, you know, mom, teacher, coach, and then now um, you know, representing Fresno as an athlete. So it's been a lot, but you know, I'm excited. I'm excited to see you guys. Yeah, again, I've been watching you guys, and bro, you guys took off since the last time I saw you. I was like, dang, okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Has it stopped? The ball's still rolling.

SPEAKER_07:

And I yeah, I see that. And I'm just like, dude, that's crazy. Like, I love that Fresno's accepted you guys and we're like, okay, yeah, let's help them. I love it too.

SPEAKER_04:

I love it too. Yes.

SPEAKER_06:

Because it's been it's been a tough journey. I think we talked about it off cameras. A lot of people don't realize, like, there's a lot of stuff that comes behind it. We just gotta work our natural lives or our normal lives, I'm sorry. Right, yeah, and working on nine to five long hours, then you still got other things. You have a child, so you have to keep up with that. Like, I can't even imagine. And for me, I got two jobs, and then me and my girlfriend, like, I have to maintain that relationship as well. Cause again, like, this is this life is not easy to balance and everything.

SPEAKER_07:

But it does take balance though. I tell people that, like, um, you know, doing everything, representing Fresno and certain brands and you know, the city, like, it can be a lot, but balance is super important. So when I'm in mom mode, I'm in mom mode. When I'm in coach mode, I'm in coach mode. When I'm athlete, I'm in athlete mode. Like, you have to learn to balance. And then when I do, you know, events and out in the public, like, you know, I'm Ajry.

SPEAKER_04:

Right, right. With that being said, like, how do you maintain like your stress? How do you handle that?

SPEAKER_07:

Um like smoking.

SPEAKER_08:

Am I allowed to say this on camera?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_08:

Um, I definitely stay elevated a lot of the time.

SPEAKER_07:

But um, yes. Um, no, but I um I manifest a lot. I pray, I take time for like my mental health. I've come from like, you know, really low places, and so learning how to like um stay afloat and not let things, you know, like trigger me or get too stressed out. And when I do fail those, oh, I take my rest moments. Yeah. Like I don't work out or like I just I sleep in, like, believe it or not, like I have to force myself to take rest days, like, because I'm just always on the go. But then I'm like, no, today I'm not on the go. You're gonna sit your ass down, you're gonna watch a movie, something, I don't care. You're just gonna like, you know, be normal, just like chill and relax. So I definitely have those days where like I have to force myself to just sit down because I've been forced, right? Like physically, where I've had like panic attacks, and I'm like, I don't want that time to happen where you know I'm being forced to sit down because I didn't take care of myself.

SPEAKER_04:

Right, that is real.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, yeah. So just I had to learn balance and um working out helps, like level, like even though it's part of my training, like it's also like keeps me um out of jail.

SPEAKER_04:

Okay. So what how do you my main thing is is what inspires you? Like, I mean, you've got so many different like aspects of your life that you're full steam ahead in. What inspires you to do these things, or do you have a specific person that's really been like your key person to just be like, I want to be like that, I need to have that same aspect?

SPEAKER_07:

I do, but it's weird. So a person I look up to like and as far as like what I want to come across, because like um I always tell people this like one day you're going to leave. What are you going to leave with?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

What are people going to remember you by? And so one of my biggest like inspirations as far as who I want to be is Nipsey Hustle. Like everybody knows that. Like I have him tatted on me. Like his words were always to inspire others. Right. So like I that's my biggest platform is I want to inspire others. So like knowing that I have this platform and I have um, you know, coaching the youth and working with disabled kids, like I God gave me that gift.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

So what keeps me going is that like, okay, I want to do something with it. I want to leave here knowing that even if I impacted one person or like, you know, changed the view of another person, I'm okay with that. Right. You know, right. And then also like I want I want to be my kids' biggest inspiration. So like you know, like I don't want them to choose someone else. Like, I want to be, I never really had that. So like I want to be it for my kids. So they come with me to train, they see my races, they see me waking up at four o'clock in the morning and working out, like they see me coaching and bouncing from here to here, but I'm still mom.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_07:

There's nothing about it. So when Nipsey Hustle he inspires me to keep inspiring the community and uplifting the community, and then I want to be my kids' inspiration.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow, that is amazing. And I think it's crazy because my perspective of it, like for me growing up, my biggest inspiration was like my mother. Because again, seeing her get up early in the morning, go to work, come home, cook, like clean, like seeing people and and it's a it's a good and a bad thing, right? So it's like seeing people work their ass off. I'm talking like day in, day out, and then they you finally see them get that rest break. It's like I couldn't fathom seeing myself do the same things that my mom did. And it's now hearing your perspective on it, it's just like now it makes so much more sense.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah. No, I get that a lot. People are just like, I how do you do everything? Like, I have five different jobs that I do mostly every single day. Yeah, and I still find time to train and to sleep, but like it's discipline. Yeah, like I discipline one hustle, like I'm always been a hustler, like I'm gonna get it done. Like, you know, I raise my kids alone, like, but they won't feel that. So if I gotta work five jobs, then I'm gonna work five jobs. Yeah, but like I don't know, like I love what I do, so it's hard because it's just a natural thing. Like I love every job that I have.

SPEAKER_04:

It doesn't really feel like a job to you most of the time. It doesn't.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, yes, it can be overwhelming, and I'm tired because I'm bouncing. Like I literally work, I gym at four o'clock, I get my kids ready, I take them to school, I go to work, I leave, I go coach, I grab my kids, I'm mom, and then I'm out and I'm running, and then I'm in bed. Wow, like that's it every single day, but that's like the discipline part.

SPEAKER_04:

Like but it feels so fulfilling, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_07:

It does though. It does, because knowing that I'm spending my time like right, you know, like I'm building something not only for me but for my kids and for the community and for Fresno. Like one of my biggest things is I want to represent Fresno in the biggest way in the most positive way because we get kind of a bad rep for some reason.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

And I get that, you know, like we aren't perfect.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, we all grew up.

SPEAKER_07:

We know, we know, we know, we know, but like there's so much genuine love here that I feel like I don't see in other cities. Yeah, they're just big cities, yeah. But Fresno will hold down Fresno, like we will support, we will push, we will build, and we're building right now, and I'm all for it. So, like, yeah, I'm just like, let's let's build local, you know, brands, let's build local artists, let's build here. And see, like people always ask me, like, do you ever eventually want to move to a bigger city like LA, San Francisco, and do this, you know, content thing? I'm like, why would I want to build another city?

SPEAKER_06:

Right, yeah, right.

SPEAKER_07:

I want to build Fresno, like let's make it big here. So no, absolutely.

SPEAKER_06:

We're on the same wame link. Like, that's my main goal and my main purpose has always been like that. It's like I've always said it, is I want to be an impact in this world no matter how big, no matter how small. At the end of the day, like, even if you meet me for a second, I want to at least give you some sort of inspiration or something to be like, hey, you motivate yourself. Yeah, yeah. But like I'm busy all the time. We find people that are busy like you all the time, but we still find ways to uplift ourselves, to make it better, and and to continue making content. And it's like, if you want to do it, you're gonna put your mind to it. Exactly. Yeah, and it's a lot, it's a lot of discipline. So we understand it, we we relate, but it's also like a high because you're just like you enjoy it so much that you're just like, all right, what's the next project? Yeah, yeah. Like you might be stressed the fuck out, but then you're just like, all right, I'm ready for the next one.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, especially, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, especially though, because like doing what we do, people are like, Oh, you have so much confidence. I do, but I also doubt, like, as an athlete, like I'm going, I'm like, I can't do a half marathon. Like, what? But then when you do it, like you did that, okay. What else can I do now? Like, I thought I doubted myself on that, like, you know, let's let's keep going. So, like I always tell people continue to challenge yourself. Don't say, like, oh, I reached my max. No, no, no, like there's never a limit, it just it keeps going and like keep shooting for the stars.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Like there's no, I feel like there's no limit to success. Like, you can get there if you want. Like, you know, some people are mil like, you know, materialistic. Like, you want that big house and you want that big car, then work and get that big car. Like, get that big house.

SPEAKER_04:

Don't cheat. Don't don't cut.

SPEAKER_06:

A lot of people think it's just like, okay, you make content, then it's like, okay, you're getting million dollar deals. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. You gotta work your ass off to get to a point.

SPEAKER_07:

No, I've been doing this for a year and a half now.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

I've been always behind the scenes. Like, I have a lot of friends in the community, and I love supporting them, and I've always been, it's been about like a year and a half since I've been in front of the camera and you know, like representing myself.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, and then it took a while. Like, it took a long time. Like, and there's some times where I'm like, okay, maybe this is not meant for me. Maybe you know, I'm gonna go behind back behind the scenes and you know, cheer everybody on. But no, I stick with it and like now, like I look at you. Now I'm getting sponsors for my races, and I'm getting sponsored races where like now I don't pay for them, and you know, um props to you.

SPEAKER_06:

I ain't gonna lie to you. Cardio, you can only give me like five minutes, like the treadmill, like me and him, they just no, like I can't. Stairs, same thing. Five minutes, that's all I could do.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay, I absolutely hate the stairs though. Like, I'd rather run 10 miles. I absolutely hate the stairs. Like, I'm just like, I don't even like walking up my own stair. Honestly, you did not. What am I doing? But no, okay, so funny story going back to you know, me being an athlete, I hated running. I only started running because so shout out to K Rich. We used to have a 5 a.m. um, you know, little session with all of um my friends that I call now, and we used to wake up at 5 a.m. and go work out, right? But he would make us run sometimes. And the first time I went out there and it ran, it was so embarrassing. I was so slow.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, come on.

SPEAKER_07:

I hurt myself and I had to like walk back. And so in my athletic head, yeah, like it was embarrassing for me, and that was gonna be the last time.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm like, I can't show my face no more.

SPEAKER_07:

You would be that, but I was actually that inspired me. Like, I never wanted to feel like that. Like I was so big, I was so like I was overweight, like I couldn't even run a mile. Like, what? So to me, literally since that day, I never looked back. I took on running, I started working out, and then shortly later, I met my trainer now. Um, he's been training me for about like three years. Wow, right. I met him during the same time.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

So it was kind of just like, all right, like this is your sign. So I ran with it, and the next time I came back to K Rich's thing, I was just running past them.

SPEAKER_02:

He was like, is that the same?

SPEAKER_08:

It's not the same person.

SPEAKER_07:

No, no, it's not. I'm all running back.

SPEAKER_06:

Come on, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

So that actually sparked my running because I absolutely hated running. And that's yeah, so I barely started running for about three years now.

SPEAKER_06:

Wow, props to you. Yeah, that's amazing. Anybody that could do cardio props. No, literally, I love cardio, but I've been seeing them runs, and I'm like, You could get me playing basketball, we'll run like six games, best believe, but that's about it. Like me and the cardio machine, like we look at each other and it's like, I'll go do the weights. Like, I love weightlifting, I'll do that.

SPEAKER_07:

I absolutely hate the treadmill though. Like, I want to I want to be outside. Like treadmill, I could only run so long. I'm like, barely at two miles. Like, what the hell? Yeah, like is this thing not going fast enough? Am I slow? Like, I'm just like, what the hell? But when I'm out there, I could just keep going. Yeah, like it's you see, especially like so. I recently got addicted to running at 4 a.m. Like, just knowing everybody's asleep, yeah, it's so quiet, the road, like it's dead, it's dark. Like, it's just me and the miles that I have. And I don't know, it became like a high running now in the morning.

SPEAKER_06:

Like, I'm just like up and I'm like, and that's another thing I was gonna ask. Is runner high true? Yeah, yes, it is.

SPEAKER_07:

Um after the first mile, because then your legs become numb and then you're just going at that point, but it is because like you literally like on the weekends I ran um on like Saturdays eight to ten miles. Like I just ran eight to ten miles.

SPEAKER_04:

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, especially for me, I used to weigh 275 pounds.

SPEAKER_04:

So, like hearing that number, you're just like, how did I these legs did that?

SPEAKER_06:

Like I did that, like I just I'm over here looking like that's one of my legs. I'm bigger, like yeah. I wish I was too setting my legs, bro. I wish I could weigh more than 140. That's that is a blessing, though.

SPEAKER_07:

Like you have to work towards it, though. I know. It is all discipline.

SPEAKER_04:

He's seen me tear down a whole plate of asada fries. I can I can I can I don't know.

SPEAKER_06:

I don't give a fuck. DJ has has been the big back of all of us. Like, we used to be like we used to be a big old friend group. Trust me, like I used to be bigger too. And we would be we would bring DJ along, like, come on, bro, we're about to slap some asada fries or tortas, like everything, like everything. We're about to be at the taco truck. Not that way, cochina. I do not partake founding. I don't nobody look at the egg. Oh my god. Okay, can we get away? We used to take DJ, and DJ would be at the taco truck. What are you guys getting? We're getting the solid fries, we're getting like 10 tacos, we're getting this, and a burrito on the side. He's like, Alright, fuck it. Let me get the same thing. He would slam it too with us. We were like, bro, what the fuck? You must have like a black hole in your stomach because I can eat tell you something, bro.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, I don't know where it comes from because growing up, I didn't really I wasn't the main person. I was tearing down everything, but it just got to a point where I really started getting an appetite. I don't know what's in them arsenals and solder fries, but I'd be tearing it up. I will I will literally on my lunch breaks at work eat a full plate and go right back to work.

SPEAKER_08:

That's insane. I don't go nowhere.

SPEAKER_04:

I don't work out. I work in an office setting. I can understand, like if I was working back at Whipple, where I'm walking, I'm constantly on my feet lifting, doing everything, but I don't go to the gym. I wake up, go to my office job, eat big, and go home and sleep. I don't know where it goes.

SPEAKER_07:

I don't know. Just goes. My son's the same way. He can snack all day. I'm like, dude, we're it looks like I'm starving you. Like, where is it going?

SPEAKER_04:

And it's crazy because every time I go like to Isaac's house, his mom's just like, You gotta eat, you gotta put some meat on those bones.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm like, mom, I be eating. I can see that.

SPEAKER_04:

She be she be feeding the same thing. Isaac's mom, if you're watching this, you be seeing me throw them plates back. Eight tacos at a time. Like, come on, you gotta respect you. Eight tacos? I can tear some tacos down. Fuck yeah. I love some food. He's been at family functions. I can imagine me high now doing that. Oh my god. Brother, we had so many stories. We do got some stories. We do got some stories. Yeah, we do. I want to ask you something. What did you bring with you?

SPEAKER_07:

Um, so I'm doing the Two Cities marathon.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

Um actually November 8th is my race day. I'm doing a half marathon. So 13.1 miles. Oh my god. Yes. So I started um I'm actually an ambassador for them. Okay. Um, I applied for it and about like only 20 of us got selected.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

And so, yeah, I know. I was surprised. Yeah. But yeah, so they um asked me to come along as an ambassador.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

And I obviously said, yeah. So I started training during the summer. I like went full on ahead, completing at least 75 to 100 miles a month. Like, yeah. So yeah. So I just took it on. I was like, yes, like this is the motivation that I needed. Like I was always an athlete, always working out, but like I wasn't working towards something. And so this finally did. And then I'm like, you know what? Like I'm buying all this stuff to train.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Let me reach out.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So I started reaching out to brands that I actually use.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And was like, hey, would you like to be a sponsor for my two cities marathon?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

You know, I will show your products as I'm training. And I mean, I use them anyways. So we have VenturePal. Um, I started using their electrolytes about a year ago. Right. Um, and so sorry, hold on, Fresno.

SPEAKER_06:

Fresno's entering the building. Sorry, I apologize.

SPEAKER_07:

Stay safe out there.

SPEAKER_06:

True. Stay hydrated. Yeah. Stay hydrated.

SPEAKER_08:

That's funny.

SPEAKER_01:

Leave that in. Leave it in, Johnga. Leave it in.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay. Um, yeah, so I started taking their electrolytes. Um, and so I was posting them and they finally reached out. Yeah. It was like, hey, would you want to do a collab? Um, we'll send you your favorite product, and you just do a video. Yeah. And so I said yeah, but then I'm like, let's take it one step further. Right. Right. So I reached out and I wrote out a whole proposal. And I was just like, hey, would you guys like to be a sponsor for my two cities? Um, just telling like what I would do, be posting, you know, they their logo would be on my gear for the race, and um, they would be like an official sponsor. And they were so on board. They're like, Yes, what do you need? What what do you want to try? So they literally sent a whole box of um tablets, um, creatine, uh, like a whole bunch of boxes of electrolytes. Wow. Like, um, they sent merch over, and they're just like, Yeah, like let's do it. So, like, you know, something I'm already using and I'm paying a subscription for. Right. I was paying monthly to have these sent to me. Um, and when they did the collab, I was just like, yeah. And then like I was gonna, I was doubting myself. I'm like, they're not gonna want to like collab.

SPEAKER_06:

Like, you never know everything you want to do.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, they're not gonna want to sponsor, like, I'm asking you to send like a whole bunch of product. And so that's what they're like, oh, what do you need? Like, is it pro pay for the race? I'm like, no, actually, I'm an ambassador. My race is already paid for. Right. I just need help with supplements, you know, things. So they said, yeah, and they've just been contacting, like, hey, are you out? Do you need anything more?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, I told them I was like coaching, and I was like, hey, like, I kind of want to do a cool drinks thing, you know, with my boys, like I'm coaching. So they sent over electrolytes and we made like whole drinks. So they've been honestly like amazing. Shout out to VenturePal and their electrolytes are amazing. I don't know if you guys know what electrolytes are.

SPEAKER_06:

I've never I'm electric to the electric light. I do, but I I don't I don't know how to say it, but I do liquid IV. Cut that out, John. I mean, I do these, the the pal, the pod things.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, I haven't. I need to get into it. Um me and electrolytes, we just I'll I'll say this.

SPEAKER_06:

It's it depends on the day, like for me, because like my job is very physical. Yeah. So like it depends, like if my day is like really busy or really hectic, because I'm always working on with my back arms. Right. Um, so if like I feel like I'm getting that cotton mouth, then I'll get electrolytes at the at a store or something, and I'll drink it so that way I stay a little bit more hydrated throughout the day.

SPEAKER_04:

Even for the drinkers out there, I mean, I usually keep a pack of electrolytes on me just for the morning after or as I'm drinking, just so that way I can stay hydrated. Yeah. Because that hangover is insane. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm just saying. Well, your body is mostly made of salt. So as you're being active, as like you're going through.

SPEAKER_05:

Honey is made of grassa. It's your little That's a little that's a little different.

SPEAKER_08:

It's okay.

SPEAKER_06:

We're all made God made me my perfect figure.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh man. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

But you as you're saying, yeah, educating the public.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, so electricists are super important, especially like for me, like I'm working out twice. Yeah. Like, and they helped you not to be sore. They're like basically it's replenishing your body. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

It's a recovery.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, it's literally a recovery. Um, so I will either take it before or work out like I'm now back with my trainer, and I'm like, okay, I know he's gonna kill me. Yeah. Let me take it before so I won't die.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And then I won't be sore or cramp.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So um yeah, so I do that. But so these ones right here are tablets. So I will take these along on my race.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

And uh probably about like every three, four miles, I'll take one.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

I'll take one and it helps me get back hydrated. It'll help me from cramping. Um, or usually sometimes like I'll try it. I'm like, okay, and then we only take it half the way. So at mile six, I'm gonna take two and so really give me that boost to keep going. Um, yeah, and so the other ones I another sponsor is culture. Um, culture Fresno. Shout out to Culture Fresno.

SPEAKER_05:

Shout out Culture.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, so not only am I running, but like recovery is super important. Like I'm killing my legs. I'm running close to 25 to 30 miles a week. Yeah, like, and I'm working out because I'm preparing for another race in December. Um so like recovery is super important for me. And so again, I used culture. Um and I was doing videos for them, and I'm just like, okay, this is one's a little bit more risky because the products are worth more, like, you know, everything. So I reached out and I was like, hey, would you love to be like an official sponsor like for my recovery?

SPEAKER_03:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Um also like when I do my races, I'm like super high. Okay, like I smoke a whole last joint.

SPEAKER_04:

That sounds like a vibe. That sounds like a vibe. And that's where the runner high comes.

SPEAKER_07:

Yes, yes, yes, it does. So usually, yes, during my races, my workouts, running, whenever you see me do something active, I am high. Yeah, yes, and I too they help people, they're like, What? How can you do that? One, it helps me focus. Right. Like, I have again, we've talked about so much going on, right? Like, if it's hard to tune out, well, I shouldn't be running because I need to wash, or like, oh, I should be preparing this video. Or like, oh, I should be like doing this right now. Like, I can't focus because I have about like five other things on my mind. So when I smoke, like, it helps me just lock in. All I'm thinking about is the miles, the next mile, the next mile, my breathing, I'm able to control it better. Um so yeah, I smoke during that, and then also like it's helping my muscles relax as I'm running. Right. So I'm not cramping, I'm not getting tired. Cheat code. Yep. Literally a cheat code. So like now that it's legal, more athletes are coming out about saying we also train high.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

It helps your body, like your muscles are literally recovering as you're working out.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

Because they're becoming numb, they're not getting so tense. The weed or like I smoke um hybrid. So like I want that up, but then I want that body because then the body part of it is recovery, but the mind is making me focus so I can run.

SPEAKER_06:

Um and I'm a strong believer like that too, because uh DJ met me when I was really locked into the gym, like in weightlifting, I used to do it high as well. Yeah, and I would tell him the same thing, it's because like my social anxiety, yeah, it would fuck me up at the gym. Yeah, so like and and then if I'm surrounded by too many people, I start to like get either overly aggressive or I start to panic in some sort of way. And then you keep focused, and I won't be able to focus. I used to get high before and and do the same thing, and then again, like I I understand that whole thing of like, yeah, it helps you lock in and it helps you focus on it. It really does.

SPEAKER_07:

And then by the time you're done, you've already like sweated out, so you come out not high, right? Right.

SPEAKER_02:

So it's kind of like a pre-workout.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, people are just like, Well, how can you do that? I'm like, how can you take pre-workout? I want to itch. I want to like I feel like things are stabbing me.

SPEAKER_02:

Like, you know what you can take on me?

SPEAKER_08:

I'm like, what is that, bro? Like, what?

SPEAKER_06:

I like that. I like that food. I didn't take a pre-workout once. I might never touch it again. I used to dry scoop when pre-workout.

SPEAKER_08:

You're like, okay, I did that once and it went. You started joking. Horribly wrong. And I was trying to do a cool video in the car, and I was like, I couldn't find my water.

SPEAKER_04:

It was like doing the cinnamon challenge.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm looking around to make sure nobody's watching me like basically choke to death on some pre-workout right now.

SPEAKER_04:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And then I finally get in the gym, and I'm like, I'm never doing that again.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_08:

I don't know how you could do that.

SPEAKER_04:

I can't. I mean, I used that's coming from a guy who used to shotgun Red Bulls before work. Tragic times, treacherous times. Do not do that at all. Wow. Um, but I would never drive scoop. I'm sorry, but I think I'd probably used to see me drive scoop.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, I remember because I would be like, no, like uh we would go to the gym and be like, all right, bro, I didn't have enough time to make it into a shake, and I want to get this workout in ASAP. I gotta be here for the next three hours, so let's try to get this going. Bro, DJ would be like, Three hours? Three hours?

SPEAKER_04:

I remember that was the first time I went with him. I said, three hours.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, because I was just like, you gotta do the five minute five minute cardio. You have to do the five-minute cardio. And then after that, I do like more than five minutes. 20 minutes of stretching, you know, getting ready. You know, try to get a few minutes.

SPEAKER_07:

About 10 minutes of stretching.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, my bad. And then after that, get into the machines to start, you know, working out the muscle. If we're doing chest, if we're doing arms, whatever it is, doing the cable workouts, and then I jump into the free weights, and then I jump into other benches. Depends on like what we're working out that day.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay. What gyms do you guys go to?

SPEAKER_06:

I would go to the GB3 before COVID. Because it used to be 24 hours.

SPEAKER_04:

And it was packed. I'm not gonna lie to you, like going to the gym high definitely helped the social anxiety. Because if you ask me to go to the GB3 right now, fuck no. I hate being in public spaces.

SPEAKER_07:

I hate being in public gyms, so I've did it twice and I left. I couldn't do it, so I go to a semi-private gym. Like, and every time I'm in there, there's nobody there. Or the most is like four people.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, right.

SPEAKER_07:

But it's like, I don't care, like, it's whatever. But I can't, I can't do it. Like, I can't step in there. I'm like, just sitting there watching people just being on their phones. I'm like, dude, can you are you working out? No.

SPEAKER_02:

Can you please that like hated that?

SPEAKER_07:

I want to go in there, get my stuff done, and go. Like, I the whole social part of gym, it's not like people are sweating.

SPEAKER_06:

Yes.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, yes, why do we want to hang out here? Right.

SPEAKER_06:

Like, what was the other thing too? At GB3, you always got those cocky guys that would be like leaning on the machine, like talking to whatever random girl, and like they put a whole bunch of lotion on to make look like they're sweating. Oh my god, like it's like and I'm just like, and DJ DJ used to see me sometimes because I would be like, fuck, I really need to get this set in. Yeah, and I would go and then be like, they're off the fucking seat. All right. And I would sit down and I would take their seat. I'd be like, all right, I gotta make it happen.

SPEAKER_07:

I think I would be too rude. Like, I would go out and be just like, are you done? Like, are you done? No? Did you post it yet? Like, yeah. I save myself, so I just go, I just go somewhere. That's good though.

SPEAKER_06:

Like you went to a different gym and it's more proper.

SPEAKER_07:

And then as an athlete, so I do races, but I also do something called high rocks racing. And it's more um of a hybrid, so you're an expert in endurance and in strength. So you're doing workouts with heavy weight and you're running in between. So a lot of these public gyms don't have like the equipment that we need for that, like sled push and pull and like skis and like things like that. They don't have so the gym I go to, it does. And so, like, that was a big thing for me. I'm like, these public gyms don't have what I need to train. Right. But then I went there and I'm just like, no, I think I just like it because there's nobody here.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, that's a and that's a good thing. That's all you really need. Yeah, like I'm gonna do it.

SPEAKER_07:

Because people will be like, hey, like, do you AI your videos? And I'm like, what do you mean? They're like, there's nobody in the background on your workout videos, like ever. I'm like, one, because nobody's working out at 4 a.m.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

But two, like, there's usually nobody there because it's a private gym. Like, you know, and it's so hot.

SPEAKER_04:

Me personally, I did that in Fowler. I was working out at a private gym. Shout out my boy off Carlos, he was my trainer at the time. Uh, he actually got me into the gym at my laziest time. I was already working at the warehouse doing solar, so I'm dealing with tossing up solar panels on the roof and carrying around heavy batteries and stuff.

SPEAKER_06:

And uh DJ got mad at me because he was like, bro, I can't fucking lift anything. I'm walking all sorts of shit. Bro, yes, yes. What?

SPEAKER_07:

I felt bad. That means you need electrolytes. Yes, I did. I did. And I the thing is.

SPEAKER_06:

And speaking about electrolytes, we got them right here.

SPEAKER_04:

Hand them over. No, I and that's the thing is I wasn't really educated on a lot of that stuff back when I was first starting to work out. Um, but now my boy Carlos, he put me on. There's a private gym in Fowler, I forgot the name of it, but walk in there, like you said, at most five o'clock in the morning, four o'clock in the morning, three people. If that sometimes I'm in there by myself and I'm like, yes. Yeah, because I can hit the free weights. I don't gotta wait for nobody on the machine. Yeah, I'm hitting leg press, nobody's bothering me, nobody's watching me. And it's embarrassing being skinny like me, because I'm like, I hit that leg press machine and I'm like 85, 105, 130, over here struggling at one 150, and I'm just like, yeah, nobody's gonna watch me and laugh at me for this one. So yeah, it's all right. But no, I definitely get it. I I hated going to public gyms.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, no, I I I've tried. And like I try to go with my friends because they'll invite me, and I'm I go there, I'm like, just to let you know I'm I'm here because I love you. But like I really don't want to be here. Yes, I really don't want to be here. Like, it's just and that's being honest. Like, that is I don't I don't like it's so loud. People are just I just I think I see it as like that's your time to work out.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, you know, like I'm never on my phone. I do set up to record because like people recently have been requesting my workouts and what I do. So now I've started posting them, but I'm literally post it up and I'm doing my workout. Yeah, and I edit it later. Right, yeah. But like two birds want to stop other than that, like I don't want to go under socialize, like I don't want to go in there to like be on my phone. I can do that outside, yeah, you know. But so I go into public gyms and I just see people on your phone, like, dude, lock in, like, yeah, you know, do your set and move so the next person can sit on your sweaty ass chair, and and then they don't react. Oh my gosh. I'm like, how can you put that weight away?

SPEAKER_04:

Like, what like gym etiquette is everything, yes, everything.

SPEAKER_07:

It is so missing in big gyms, like nobody is considerate of like anybody else.

SPEAKER_06:

So I'm just like I like how every day was leg day, like everybody had all the squat racks full, and it's just like fuck, I can't do anything. Like, I hated that. I hated leg day just because of waiting. Like lifting was nothing, but you already don't want to do workout. I love legs. You you saw me. I love legs, yeah. You do.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't fuck legs.

SPEAKER_06:

Listen, I would ma I I still can max out all the the weights on everything with just legs.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm a runner, I like to run.

SPEAKER_06:

Bless your soul. Listen, you ain't gonna catch your.

SPEAKER_04:

I love cardio. I when I was younger, I did track, I did cross country, I did football. I love all that. But but I don't run now. Like I'm super unathletic. My matter of fact, I'm gonna tell you something. When I worked at Amazon, um, I actually have screenshots of it too. I walked 21 miles in one ship. Like I was really stepping. Like these calves, let me tell you something about these calves. The most definition I've actually a little extra bone on the back. You you know, you remember that bump at the bottom. You remember that episode when Spongebob was working out and he showed his little twig muscle? That was SpongeBob. That was this leg right here. He's popping a little bump out.

SPEAKER_08:

And then popped in that button.

SPEAKER_04:

And I mean, don't get it twisted. I hated that job, but it helped me get that endurance up. I was pushing around a big cart full of totes, up and down the entire warehouse. One side, the next side, the next floor. Like, and then I did get into running um a few years later on, but I just stopped. Like, life got busy, shit just It's not an excuse.

SPEAKER_07:

No, there is no excuse.

SPEAKER_04:

And she's right, there really is no excuse not to look after your health. Um, I definitely feel like I need to get back into it. And after seeing my guy Yeah, my guy market. My guy market, he's killing it. I've I've been seeing his episode.

SPEAKER_07:

He would come to our 5 a.m. And that energy, he would have at 5 a.m. I'm like, bro, you need to chill. Hold on. Okay, we're all still waking up here. He's like, let's go.

SPEAKER_02:

Let's go.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm like, bro, it is five. Can we chill, please?

SPEAKER_04:

He's always like at work, he's like that in public. Like the guy is so cool. Love that guy. No, and um, I mean, I've just been seeing so much more content of people running. I'm like, all right, one of these days I'm gonna have to take the time.

SPEAKER_07:

And I love that. I love that Fresno is now had to like the healthy side. Yes, like out of nowhere, there's like over 15 running clubs. Like everybody's running, like the health community, like has is growing, and I love it. Like Grand Rising. I don't know if you guys been to Grand Rising, like the fact that we can have a whole rave with coffee and no drinking, and like everybody having fun healthy wise, like that's tight, is amazing to me. Like it inspires other people, and even like I tell people, even if you walk, just move your body, like no one's telling you to go do a whole hour and stop eating and starve yourself, like nobody's saying that.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

I tell people, go go for a mile walk. Like, just so your mind can get like not only is it for your body, but it works out your mind.

SPEAKER_04:

It's therapeutic. Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_07:

It's so therapeutic, like you're able to just like it relieves stress. Like, people don't know that, but as you're working out and as you're running, it's more of a therapy than going to therapy, right? Right because endorphins in your body is like calming, it calms your body, it calms your mind, and so that way people are like you'll never regret a workout. No, because it automatically like makes your body feel better, and so like I can have the worst day, the good like and stuff, and I'm like, I don't want to go to the gym, like I don't want to get up, I don't want to get ready, I don't want to do this. Right, like I just spent the whole night editing. I don't want to be up at four, yeah. But then when I go there, all the energy I was lacking is now put back in. I'm not ready for the day. I'm like, all right, let's get it. Like, let's go to work, let's handle these kids. Like, you know, I've never regretted not showing up when I really because there's days I don't want to show up. Like, especially with my schedule and I have to work out at four.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah. Man.

SPEAKER_07:

I I don't want to some like sometimes. It's literally very disciplined at four.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

I love it once I'm up in there and go like I'm there. But that battle, but that battle of like you know, going to bed at 11, only running off five hours of sleep, and knowing you're gonna have to work the entire day.

SPEAKER_06:

Nah. Like, I relate to that every day.

SPEAKER_07:

And like, you know, it's I hate that. Sometimes like majority of the time, I'm battling getting out of that bed.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

But when I'm there, I'm just like I love this.

SPEAKER_04:

Like I think the feeling of accomplishment after the fact is so much better than the feeling of I mean, of course, the feeling of regret is not something we look forward to, but it's just like, okay, well, I got it out the way, what's next? Right, and again, that high is there. You're like, all right, we got it done and out the way, let's let's tackle the rest of the day. Yeah, and I think working out in the first thing in the morning when you first wake up is definitely the biggest like power tool you could actually use.

SPEAKER_07:

It sets your tone for the rest of the day. You're gonna want to eat healthy because you just worked out, like you're not gonna want to work out and then go eat some garbage, yeah. Yeah, eat garbage. Usually people go eat our garbage. Well, I'm just gonna work out later, so you know, I'll just work it out.

SPEAKER_04:

Which is true, you know?

SPEAKER_07:

So that's their mindset going in. Oh, I'm just gonna be lazy, I'm gonna eat these Cheetos, but I'm gonna go work out later. So I'm just gonna work it off.

SPEAKER_04:

Listen, I'm guilty of that.

SPEAKER_07:

I will dabs, okay. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just saying people in general.

SPEAKER_04:

Listen, what's the double double animal fries? Just at me at this point.

SPEAKER_08:

A double.

SPEAKER_04:

Listen.

SPEAKER_08:

Hey, look, okay, hold on. I used to work at In N Out.

SPEAKER_04:

Come on now. Come on, I can't a flying Dutchman after a workout. Protein burger. Come on now.

SPEAKER_07:

Okay, no one's saying anything. There's balance. Trust me. Okay, but I mostly post healthy, but let me tell you something. I will not give up hot Cheetos. Like, I told my trainer, look, I will eat whatever you want me to eat. I will eat the rice and chicken and whatever, but I'm not giving up my hot Cheetos, and I'm not getting up my Red Bulls. Yeah, so it's like fine.

SPEAKER_04:

Red Bulls are staple.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, like I'm sorry, with my schedule, like no, I need it. Anything else, fine.

SPEAKER_06:

Stay safe out there. Stay hydrated. Yeah. Electrolytes, please.

SPEAKER_08:

Every time.

SPEAKER_06:

Every time.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Your sponsor's gonna be happy for this. The setup is crazy.

SPEAKER_07:

Oh, well, okay, going back to that, my recovery. Sorry.

SPEAKER_06:

You're good. You're good. You're good. You're good. We love that. We're good. We're good. We're good.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, culture is sponsoring my recovery. So, like, again, those days were like I'm having trouble sleeping. Like, I'll take a gummy. Yeah. Like, yes, let's see yesterday. Yes, yesterday, I got, I, you know, went to go hang out with friends. I came home. I'm like, okay, I can sleep in, so let me take a gummy. So I know I'm not gonna wake up.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm not gonna be disturbed. I'm gonna get the full rest my body needs.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Um, because I'm so used to waking up at four. I'll wake up if I don't take a gummy.

SPEAKER_02:

Right, right.

SPEAKER_07:

And then I'm but I'm up, so I can't go back to bed.

unknown:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So I'm just like, might as well just get my day started. But I still didn't sleep.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So I'll take a gummy and I'll know, like, I'll wake up so much better.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, not only is it like recovering my body, what's inside the gummy, but it's making sure my body's like not I'm knocked out.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'm done.

SPEAKER_07:

Right. If anybody knows I'm a mic, once I hit that gummy hits, don't call me. My phone's on DD. I am knocked out. And probably like today, I didn't get up till like 11. Wow. Like, well, like I woke up at like eight. But yes, yeah, so well rested. Like I went, I went to the gym, I stretched, I did everything, and then tomorrow is my long distance, so I would have to run 10 miles tomorrow.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Right.

SPEAKER_07:

But mom, my baby, my body feels like so much better. Right, you're ready to attack. I needed that sleep and stuff. And then the other one is just natural gummies. So they gave me a lot of gummies that had like vitamin D in them and ones that like um are more wellness uh based. So like on the weekends, I'll take those during the day. So then it's recovering my body during the day.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So I kind of think of it as like you have daytime medicine and nighttime medicine.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Like the daytime is gonna give you that recovery, but like you're not gonna be drowsy.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So like I'll take one of those before I run.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay.

SPEAKER_07:

So again, as I'm so once it hits, I'm probably midway and it starts recovering my body.

SPEAKER_04:

So it's like a whole, like, there's a whole research science on this.

SPEAKER_07:

And I like I that's why I love that's why I love the culture, because they're very more wellness based than let's smoke and party and you know, get high type. Theirs is very more educated and very more like wellness, which I want to change the view on, you know, like cannabis. Like it's not, yeah, the stigma behind it is like, oh, you're just a pothead, or you smoke all the time, or like you're high all the time, and you know, it has a bad rep, but like nobody knows the like the scientific for your body behind it is so important. Like, that's why they recommend it to so many old people. Right. It helps recover your body, it helps with that aches, it helps with that pain because it's naturally healing your body, yeah, and that's why more athletes are coming out about it. Yes, because again, we're putting our body through more than it should be in a day, and so like it's supposed to recover on its own, and you're supposed to your body's supposed to hit what you just did the next day again and recover on its own. It's impossible. So that's why you know we take electronics, like I take the gummies, um, I smoke, and I'm able to do what I do every single day.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Like I run and work out six times a week. Sundays are the only days I rest. Like I'm fully rested, but yeah, so like I'm trying to change that whole part, and so having them along my two cities journey is showing people, okay, like I'm it's it's part of my training.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, yeah, you're giving proof, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

I'm literally providing proof, like I'm not doing it just because like they're seeing me work out and run and do everything and have that energy. Like, people will say, like, how do you have the energy? Because I am making sure my body is good.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Like you have to, like, you can't tell your body to work like a thousand times over, but not give it what it needs.

SPEAKER_01:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So I try to I try to change it, and so bringing them along my Two Cities Marathon is giving a different outlook for um cannabis and smoking and taking gummies and stuff, and then they sent over this bomb is amazing. Like I rub it on my calves after I run, and you kind of can feel like this warming sensation, and like when I wake up the next day, my cramps are gone.

SPEAKER_06:

Wow, that's good.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

Because like after usually a 10-mile um run, I'm icing. My legs are dead, my calves are like gone. You're running on that runner's high.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

So finally, when your body's catching up, everything hurts. Yes, yes, everything hurts, and I'm walking like this because like I can't. And so, like at night, I'll um I'll ice and then I'll put that on, and then usually like I'll wear tights or something so that way it keeps it compresses it, it compresses it. Um, and the next day I'm able to run again. Wow.

SPEAKER_04:

Cheat codes for real.

SPEAKER_07:

It is really cheat codes, like, and that's what I try to put people on. Like, I want to share my journey in full effect, um and what I take and in and out. And people say, like, I can't watch your stories, like it just makes me feel lazy, or it just makes me like well it's all in how you perceive it.

SPEAKER_04:

Like, if you're feeling lazy, go hit the gym.

SPEAKER_07:

That's what I'm saying. I'm just like, well, I that means that's you know, I'm not saying it, you're saying it. But like, you know, you got to do what you gotta do, and I choose to be an athlete, so I'm gonna do everything I can to be the best one.

SPEAKER_06:

Right. And you're you're the right person to to show and be the representative for culture and for your electrolytes because this is something that you've been working so hard for. Right. And keep going, man. I know, I'm excited.

SPEAKER_07:

So, like in the beginning of the year, um, I did a podcast um with Grizzly Talks. Shout out to you guys. And they went over asking me what my goals would be for this year.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And I kind of had not really a set goal. Um and definitely my vision did not pan out it more. I always tell people it's God's plan, not mine. Because what I had a vision was, oh, I'm gonna do some races. Like, I always do races, I've done over 20 different races, and they're just races. But like, and they're like, Well, they asked a question, and we're like, Would you eventually want us to get start getting paid as an athlete? And I was just like, dude, that would be the goal. Like, that would be amazing to get paid to do something I absolutely love.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And now we're ending the year with two of my biggest races and they're both being sponsored.

SPEAKER_02:

Perfect.

SPEAKER_07:

And like, I'm not paying for the races, I'm not paying to go there and do the races. Like, and now the products that I actually use. Um, I didn't wear them today, but I've gone pairs of shoes sent to me for the race. Um, yeah, so I made shirts. Shout out to Anthony, Anthony's Tacos. They're an also a sponsor. So they made me the shirts, and I'm just like, I'm gonna go full force with this. It was one of my visions, and it's here. I did I expect it. No, that was all God, right? And I ran with it, and I'm just like, you know what? I'm taking this opportunity as being ambassadors for these races to now start getting sponsorships.

SPEAKER_02:

That's ungodly.

SPEAKER_07:

To where like now they were sponsoring two cities, but they heard about my high rocks race I have in Anaheim, and they already are on board of being a sponsor for that too.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, beautiful.

SPEAKER_07:

So it's been like honestly, like a blessing. Yeah, a blessing to just know I'm used to weigh 275 pounds, like had no energy, so unhappy, so like not satisfied with life, to now like being genuinely happy. Wow, working out and loving it, and now I'm getting paid and sponsored for it.

SPEAKER_04:

And at least like you use the products, like there's one thing I hate is when I'm watching TikTok and I see somebody promoting something, I'm like, I know you do not use it. You got paid. Like they they got paid to promote something that they don't even use. You don't even use you being an active image for this brand is everything because it's not like you're just trying to sell something just to make some bread. Like these are these are items that you use. Yeah, every single time.

SPEAKER_07:

And I want to put people on, and and people have. So, like, um, I did the Grand Rising race and I always keep tablets on me. And so, you know, I was just like, Hey, do you guys want their like what is it? I'm like, Oh, it's gonna help you like as we go back. And so they took them, and they're like, Hey, like these are actually like super good. Like, where do I get them?

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And so, one, I have a code for both of these. It's true, Adri. Um, but I was like, Hey, like I have a code, you can use them, but I also got a bunch of boxes. I'm like, here, take this one though. She was like, No, no, I don't want to take yours. I just want to know what you got. I'm like, I have boxes.

SPEAKER_02:

Take it, take it.

SPEAKER_07:

I like I want to share like with people. I actually gave it to my guy and he was like, What is this? I'm like, it's like salt tablets, like it's gonna help you, even though he doesn't need it, it's gonna help you continue running. And so he took it and he's like, dude, these are actually like really good. And I'm like, I know, like you instantly feel that salt hitting your bloodline, right? And so um, yeah, I've been sharing them with everybody because like if I can help like put you on something that's gonna help your body, like, and I've tried it and I know it's good, like, hey, let me put you on.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

This is gonna be amazing for you as like an athlete or just a daily person, like as you're working. I take them, I have some at work. Because like I deal with kids with disabilities, so like we're constantly on our toes. Sometimes I'm just like, I'm feeling low. Let me take let me take one, and then instantly, like I have that boost back up. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04:

Right. Um I need that for work, I'm not gonna lie to you. I I wish I would have knew about this stuff. Like, I never researched anything in terms of like working out what's gonna help me, good supplements and stuff. I tried a little bit with vitamins, of course, which take your vitamins, people. You need that shit. Um but I really wish I would have knew about a lot of this stuff when I first started working out, because I definitely probably would have helped me continue further. Yeah, like being sore, like I'm talking sore, getting ready to do another day of chest day, and I'm like, bro, I'm dead. How can I? Like, yeah, and that constant feeling you're breaking your body down, like if you don't have anything to help pick you back up, you're gonna dread every day of it. So why not help yourself out?

SPEAKER_07:

You're gonna constantly be sore, and people are like, people always say, like, sore is a good thing. That means you worked hard. That means you worked your body really, really hard. So, what are you doing to help it recover? Exactly. Like, you know, you can't ask for your body to do something but not give it something in return.

SPEAKER_04:

Right, exactly.

SPEAKER_07:

And so eventually it's gonna be like, bitch, bye. I ain't doing that. Like, I'm gonna break down on you right now, and then you get hurt, you know, and then you get hurt, and it's happened to me. So actually, like I started getting really on these because my trainer, shout out to Javon, because he's gonna be like, I told you so. He used to say, Did you take your electrolytes? Because I'll be cramping during I mean, like during our races, we have to like sled pull close to 350 pounds. Wow, so like you're cramping in midway, like it's it hurts. And so he was like, Did you check your electric? And I'm like, and to me at that time the salt was too much for me. Yeah, and it is for people, yeah. You can love it or hate it or just down that thing because it is very salty. I'm like, dude, I can't take those. Yeah, yeah, and so he kept pushing it and pushing it, and so finally when I started really implementing in them, I was like, Okay, I don't cramp.

SPEAKER_06:

I don't want this anymore.

SPEAKER_07:

He's back.

SPEAKER_06:

He's watching it on his TV. I told you so.

SPEAKER_07:

I told you. Yeah, so shout out to J Von, he's been my trainer for um three years. He's actually got me into this whole crazy athletic life. Because one, he's like 23. Okay, okay. So he's still not human. Right. So when he does this thing, he's not even sweating, right?

SPEAKER_04:

He's just like, you know, slight work, no reaction.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, and so when he trains us, I'm like, because I have another friend I train with, and I'm like, you do know like we're 30, just you know, yeah, keep that in mind, just keep keep that in mind, like you know, our body aches and like things are you know cracking while we're doing stuff, but no, he's truly like amazing. And so when um I got asked to do high rocks or jumped on to do high rocks pro, okay. So this the this race that I'm doing in um Anaheim, I've done three other times regular, wow, but this time we'll be doing it pro. So the weight is doubled in everything. Um and so with this race, you're doing it for time, you're doing it to be the fastest, right? So you have other girls in there like beasting through it and everything. So once I hopped on pro, I brought him back on with me, and he's also like a sponsor for my high rocks. Um, so I've been training with him for about a month now, and he's noted the difference. He's like, dude, you're able to like last, you're not complaining as much and stuff, but I'm able to keep going because one like I started taking electrolytes, I started doing what he actually told me to do.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And um, yes, he was right. He was right, but yeah, I started that and it really does. Like, I try to tell people like it really does, like with what you guys see, what I do, I do that on the daily, yes, and I don't wake up sore.

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

Like sometimes my legs, you know, I'll be walking weird, but for the most part, like, yeah, my calves be like, nope, we can't do this.

SPEAKER_08:

Yeah, but yeah, no.

SPEAKER_06:

No, that's good. That's good that you're you're going. I'm super proud of you seeing that you're continuing after the fact. So you're doing it, man. You're doing it.

SPEAKER_04:

Check them out if you haven't heard of them yet. Check out the products, check out Adri's page for all of your weightlifting needs, all of your healthy needs, because I mean, she knows living proof right here.

SPEAKER_07:

Like and I'm here to help. I always tell people like I I have a couple people that I um are accountability coach for. Okay, like they needed help, they're starting their weight loss journey, and um, you know, some people just need that person to be. They can't afford a trainer to be there, but they need that person to keep going. So I'm up at four, and you know I am, so I'm just like. So are you calling them?

SPEAKER_06:

Are you calling them at four in the morning? You better be up. Hey, are you you better be ready? You better be ready to be up.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm like a drill sergeant out their window, like you take the migration packs like I told you. He's like my guy market, like I that kid is not normal. I swear.

SPEAKER_04:

That guy's energy is what I inspire to be like.

SPEAKER_08:

Because like I don't know where he gets it.

SPEAKER_07:

Really? I I want the energy. Like, I I I need that, and it's natural.

SPEAKER_04:

Like the episode that we did with him. I don't know if anybody whoever's watching, check out that episode. Amazing episode, good energy. That guy had me on my toes the entire episode because it's like you just feed off of his energy there. Like, you can't be too low energy around that guy. He's gonna pick you up. Man, love that guy for real.

SPEAKER_07:

But it's like, I mean, your energy. I always tell people like people feed off your energy, whether it's good or bad. Yes. So, like, that's the thing, people are just like, I get so many deals or brands wanting me on, and what I take pride is they always just like, dude, your energy is amazing. Yes, like we want you to come back on, or we want you to come back, and um and stuff, but that's like that genuine part of Fresno, like. It's just who we are. And so we're like cool being who we are. Like, my guy could give a shit what people think.

SPEAKER_01:

No, literally. Literally.

SPEAKER_08:

He's like, I'm a being me and I'm a happy being me and I'ma I'ma do whatever.

SPEAKER_06:

Outfits. Outfits. Outfits for me.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm just like, who's who's who lets you step out the house?

SPEAKER_04:

I'm not gonna lie. He really inspires me a lot. Like just his personality for one, but also just not being afraid of being you.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, like I tell people that be you, social media, everybody tries to hop on, and everybody's trying to go with the trends and going with the like flow of other people. I'm just like, no, people who make it, yes, money could buy you.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you can buy to get through. You can pay to play.

SPEAKER_07:

The ones who actually support you and actually like have really big followings is because like they're genuinely themselves. Like, I'm genuinely me. Like, I'm a workout, I'm gonna wear what I want. Like, I'm not very a provocative person.

SPEAKER_04:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

And like people are just like, dude, you can be.

SPEAKER_04:

I'm like, it's not a care. It's not me though.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, I get I turn down so many modeling because like what they want me to do, I'm like, sorry, that's not me. But give me like an oversized shirt and some bad, like, I'll be there.

SPEAKER_02:

That's real, that's real.

SPEAKER_07:

But that's just like me. I feel like I'm very genuine. I don't have to sell so much because I'm gonna be me. And if you love it, follow along. If you don't, then like cool.

SPEAKER_04:

I mean, look how far you've come being yourself. Why would you stop? Yeah, and I think the thing is is people think that they have to act like somebody, they have to be like somebody in order to be something, and it's like, no, end of the day, we us three have gotten to where we are today, being ourselves, making genuine connections, yeah, providing real, genuine passions, and like trying to help others create a passion that they can live for. And it's like, I I really hope anybody watching this, like if you feel like you have to act like somebody to be somebody, or you feel like all my following's too low, I probably can't inspire nobody. No, trust me, you can start with anything and really blow up. It's just be you. Yeah, yeah. Believe in yourself first. That's the first step is believing in yourself. The second step is just not caring what nobody else says about it. Just do it for you.

SPEAKER_06:

Absolutely. Do it for you. I had sent DJ a screenshot of the my recent reels, and they've been consistently over a certain amount of number. And I was like telling him, I was like, it's crazy when I first started, it started just with five five people maybe seeing, five people maybe liking to 500 to like 5,000. I was just like, it's just crazy the transition, but that's the consistency of keep going and the consistency of being yourself and not trying to like, oh, let me do this or let me do this.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, yeah, and let me copy off with that person. So that person's famous, let me do what they're doing, yeah. But like, no, that's not you're only gonna get so far doing that before people see that that's not the real you, right? And then all of that clout that you had is gone because like it's only gonna last for so long before then what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do next?

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, you can't continue to replicate what somebody else does because when you don't have that no more, where's your content? What are you doing?

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, what are you doing? So yeah, always do what you want to do. So, like being in social media, I've you know, done many routes, but now I've really started doing stuff that aligns with who I am, what my vision is, what I'm gonna do, and if I gotta say no, then I gotta say no. You know, like and so I tell people that like does it align? I that's a big part for me, like is alignment. And I always post it in my story thing, alignment. Like I try to remind people does it align with what you're doing, right? Does it align with your goals or your heart or whatever? Then no, then it serves you no purpose, then it's no purpose in you and you doing it. So like I always tell um my athletes that like because um as a coach, do everything with intention.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes, you have to move with intention.

SPEAKER_07:

Because if you don't, then again, why are you doing it? Yeah, like and so everything that I calculate is going to be with intention, and now we're here. Now everything is aligned with my goals, and everything that's in my vision and my hustle is all in alignment, and if it's not, then I cut it off. And it just how it has to go.

SPEAKER_04:

And it takes a lot of discipline to do that, like a lot of discipline. That is insane. Yeah, like you inspire me.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm just saying, like, just this conversation alone, and she's gonna be inspiring all these other people that are listening and watching.

SPEAKER_07:

I just always want to tell people you can do it, like I'm proof you can do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, not everybody knows my story, but if you want to go to my page, and I've come from you know a not so good upbringing and everything, and losing weight, and getting out of an abusive marriage, and like to having to raise my kids alone, but like now we have a house, I have a job that I love. I'm inspiring, you know, the community, I'm an athlete, I'm getting paid for things. Like you just have to stick with it, you have to believe in yourself. Like, it's possible, yes, but like do you want it to be possible?

SPEAKER_04:

Right, you know, and what's accessible around you that can make it possible. Yeah, I think a lot of the times too, some people feel like they can't do it because they don't see the opportunities right in front of them. But it's like, bro, rub elbows.

SPEAKER_06:

But then people only see like at the end of the line.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, they're not looking at the cross.

SPEAKER_07:

It's a marathon. That's why I love Nevsi Hassel. Like he instilled in people, like it's a marathon. Enjoy that moment, that next day. What's your next day gonna be like? Not what, oh, I'm never gonna be there, like, and stuff, or like people are like, I'm never like I have like a lot of people who are wanting to lose weight who follow me, and they always say, like, you're such an inspiration to me, and I can't do that. And I always tell them, you can. I used to be you saying I couldn't, and look at me now. Like, I but you have to do it, you have to, and that's the thing with now in this generation. Nobody wants to put in the work, they just want to get there, they want that instant fame, they want that instant results. So now you have people like getting their bodies done, and you have people doing all that, but like they nobody wants to put in the work, and that's so much more satisfying. Yes, like people like think like, oh, you post thirst traps because I post myself at the gym. No, I worked my ass off to feel comfortable in the like where I'm at now. Like 125 pounds down. I did that. Not no surgery, not no doctor, not no, not nobody else, because I had to put in that work, I had to eat right. Um, you know, I had to get up and go work out. So, like, yeah, you're you'll get there, but it took me six years to get here. Yeah, six years.

SPEAKER_06:

And that and that's the thing, you have to see it as like it's gonna take a long time. Yes, and you have to stick to it. Don't stop. You're not gonna see instant results within the first three months.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, you have to get it. Brick by brick. I always tell people it's brick by brick. It's how would you want to build your house?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_07:

You know, would you want gaps in there? You know, would you skip a whole level floor?

SPEAKER_02:

Right.

SPEAKER_07:

No, you're gonna be building it to the top to where you finally, you know, are proud of what you built. And right now I'm proud of what I built, but like now I want a back house. Like now we go start building. I want more. Like, I want I've gone here and I'm so proud of myself, but like now I'm just like, okay, but I'm still not done. Right. Now I want to share my story and have other people be inspired to you know achieve what you want. Like I always tell people, be happy. Like you never know when you're gone. Like do something. Tomorrow ain't promise. Tomorrow isn't promise, and that is so scary, but it's so true. Yeah, and at least I know that I'm living genuinely happy, I'm doing what I love, right? Like, and to me, that is way better than having a million followers and getting paid for big endorsements and going to these events and everything. Like this to me is a win. Yes. Like what we're doing is a win for me. Like, you know, like we are inspiring other people. Like, what more can you want?

SPEAKER_06:

Right. Exactly.

SPEAKER_07:

Like on my on my um on my bio, um, I have a quote from Nipsey, and I always will quote it saying, the greatest human act is to inspire. That's the greatest human act. Like not money, not buying a person a house, not buying a person like this or that, or giving person money. That money is only gonna last for so long.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07:

But when you inspire someone, you inspire them to be great, and then that inspiration that they're going to keep with them is going to get to the next person. Yes. And this is where you have now where, like, I don't know if you guys saw like social media today where it was like the No Kings Day.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, yes. Did you see the cities? There was a lot of people.

SPEAKER_07:

Like, what that's like, and to me, like that's one person just inspiring the next, and now look at all the cities standing together. Yes, like, and it has to be with inspiring. Yeah, like it's not for you. How are you gonna help build the world? Um, so yeah, that's my main thing is.

SPEAKER_06:

And you're doing it, like, huge shout out to you for real. And thank you for being on, and thank you for coming on. And thank you for bringing your sponsors. No, for real.

SPEAKER_04:

Because I'm about to, I'm telling you, I'm about to check out your page when I'm done, and I'm about to get my old I'm about to get an industrial size at this point. Because I did the same thing with um liquid IV, and I was like, okay, this is cool, but it's not my thing. I probably no shade.

SPEAKER_08:

I didn't want to bring up liquid IV because we got the sponsor right. No, no, no shade liquid IV.

SPEAKER_07:

There's no shade on it.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm not saying don't use it.

SPEAKER_07:

These have more benefits than with liquid IV. Liquid IV is an instant like thing while this is replenish your body for continuing.

SPEAKER_02:

Word.

SPEAKER_07:

So people are like, oh, I need a liquid IV before I go out. Well, that's an instant. So like again, no shade liquid IV.

SPEAKER_06:

But like No shade liquid IV. Please don't come out.

SPEAKER_07:

Don't come out with me. I'm just a brook boy.

SPEAKER_08:

Please don't make us viral for that, too. Bro.

SPEAKER_06:

We gotta tell you about that on God.

SPEAKER_08:

Did you see the um what is it?

SPEAKER_07:

No, who was it? Um the pit bull thing, the interview that they did with um that little old lady? Um, no, Fat Joe. Oh Fat Joe did a podcast, and he talks about Fresno on how there was a whole bunch of aliens.

SPEAKER_04:

Oh, yeah, yeah, I heard about that.

SPEAKER_07:

Because everybody is wearing the bald caps, and he was ranking on Fresno, and he literally says Fresno so many times, and that thing went viral. Wow. I was like, great, so now we're getting um kicked off stages and we're all aliens in Fresno. Welcome to Fresno.

SPEAKER_04:

Welcome to Fresno. We're gonna make your experience coming here work it though.

SPEAKER_06:

We might motivate you on the mix of it, though.

SPEAKER_04:

But don't doubt us, we're gonna make something happen.

SPEAKER_06:

Thank you, Adrian, for coming on. I appreciate your time. I appreciate for us making it work. And huge shout out to your sponsors, huge shout out to you. Thank you. And to Fresno, because look where we're at.

SPEAKER_08:

I know, look at that background.

SPEAKER_06:

And I told DJ I was like, or DJ pointed out, he was just like, hey, look at that purple room. And I was like, that's crazy. The Brook Boys is right there.

SPEAKER_07:

Yes, that's our room right there.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow.

SPEAKER_07:

I love Fresno. I love uh Fresno, it's just so beautiful.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes, yes. And if you haven't really seen Fresno for what it is, take a step outside one day. Just go to Tower District, come into the downtown events, come look at some of the amazing places we have. There might be a few people barking, but don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_07:

Don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_04:

But with that being said, thank you for coming on. I'm definitely still in that box when we leave.

SPEAKER_08:

I'm gonna have you guys try some. Okay.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, please, please. And uh again, this is all genuine, authentic podcast conversations. None of this is scripted, remember that. Um we're not AI. We are not AI. I hate that shit. Quit putting that in the different background every time. It's gotta be AI. Shut the fish. You wish it was.

SPEAKER_08:

No, I wish.

SPEAKER_04:

It would be so much easier, bro. But watch what we come up with next. I'm telling you. Thank you, AG.

SPEAKER_07:

Of course.

SPEAKER_04:

If you want to say anything else to everybody, go ahead.

SPEAKER_07:

Follow the broke boys. They have a lot coming. They've been doing amazing work here in Fresno, so make sure you guys give them a follow and then watch this podcast. Thank you guys for having me on.

SPEAKER_06:

Thank you. Thank you. Much love. Y'all have a good one. Peace.
