Intro Music by Rockstar Turtle- Broke Boyz (999)
Christmas Intro Song by Nico
Welcome back to another episode of the Broke Boys. We make it out alive, and so you being here, I know we've been trying to schedule this for a minute. We've been going back and forth. Where are you coming from, man? I?
Speaker 3:know you've been traveling. Yeah, man, I'm coming from Los Angeles, california. Well, like 30 minutes from Los Angeles, but damn near the same place. I'm from Orange County, so, like Garden Grove, Anaheim. Yeah, man, I'm so fucking stoked to be here. I'm excited to play this set for you guys. This set is really, really special because dog days literally changed my entire life Really, and being able to showcase that in today's set is going to be the most crowning achievement.
Speaker 2:Well, congratulations, man. Thank you Absolutely, yeah. So where are you born and raised?
Speaker 3:here or out of here. I was born and raised inside Fountain Valley, california, in SoCal. I went to Los Amigos High School it's like an all Hispanic high school so it was kind of hard for me to fit in but I found the way I would fit in. I started like learning how to DJ when I was in like junior year, entering senior year of high school, and my dumb ass was like, hey, if I learn how to dj, people will like me so I I spent hours on like nothing but a laptop and like a freaking mouse and a speaker that my dad gifted me, and he was like, yeah, how about it?
Speaker 3:and so I gj'd on that, I learned, and then I was like, okay, I'm a little bit more confident now. So, like entering senior year, I asked my student body like hey, I wasn't even fucking psychonellics yet, man, I was DJ. Vu. I was DJ.
Speaker 9:Vu.
Speaker 3:Okay, all right, so I went there and I was like hey, my name is DJ Vu, can I DJ for you guys? Yeah, and then they said we'll give you a try. So once a Friday, once a month on a Friday, they We'll give you a try. So, like once a Friday, I would like once a month on a Friday they let me have like a quad performance where, like, people eat lunch and stuff my first set dude to people really.
Speaker 2:I fucked up so many times, but that's the beauty of it.
Speaker 3:That's crazy, but believe it or not, I got invited back to do my fucking spring formal Really, whatever the fuck it's called, yeah, and then eventually I wasn't even second dogs yet. Even after that, I was fucking deja vu, really.
Speaker 2:That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying, so why didn't you stick with it?
Speaker 3:Because I knew that wasn't me. I knew back then like that would have worked back then. But to me I'll tell you why I chose second dogs in a little bit here.
Speaker 3:But uh, honest to god, like I got invited to dj my prom, I didn't have a date, but I didn't care, I had so much fun yeah went to the military and, um, I locked in man, while everyone else was like partying and like drinking and shit, I was locked inside my barracks room learning how to produce and learning how to make music and also DJ Nice, nice.
Speaker 2:What got you into the whole passion? The?
Speaker 3:passion of it, bro, is there's a song by Marshmello and it's called Alone, and when that came out, I was in senior year, and my senior year was really fucked up because, like at the beginning, I did not have any friends at all.
Speaker 3:I was at a new high school as a senior bro, and so, um, uh, long story short, I was a trouble kid, they put me there, but, uh, I had no one, and so I sit in my hallway with my airpods with wires, by the way and, um, I listened to the song alone on repeat, and then I saw a video of marshmallow performing alone in ultra japan, yeah, and I saw the reaction. I was like I want to do that right, and so that's what drove my passion. If you ask me what uh drove my passion today, it's being able to give people a reason to be happy and, uh, look forward to stuff to go to like, for example, people don't just go to raves to get fucked up and do all these drugs, example, people don't just go to raves and get fucked up and do all these drugs that people talk about.
Speaker 3:People go to raves to make good connections, have such good memories, and that's why I really hone on peace, love, unity, respect and also responsibility, which is the new art of it. That's why you always see me wearing some candy, because I like to emulate that player.
Speaker 2:Hell yeah, that's good man, that's good to see. Like when we had the interview with Adacious, adacious was very humble and was telling us about the experience as well. Like this isn't just about getting fucked up and getting, like you know, into drugs, it's more of like a family base and seeing like he was talking about the culture in the rape culture is that they care about one another.
Speaker 3:They look out for one another. Yeah, honestly, and you know, honest to god, that if, if you find yourself, if my advice to someone that's trying to enter the rave scene is just be yourself, because eventually you'll fall in love with raving, it could go from the first to second. If you don't like your first one, give the second or third one a chance and eventually you'll be hooked because you find the passion behind raving. I rave because I have a message behind it. My message is let me be there for someone that needs that. You know Like, for example, if someone's having a bad trip on the ground, I'm not going to laugh. Who?
Speaker 5:the fuck does that? What is this 2001? Like you know, 2001?
Speaker 3:No, you're going to pick his ass up and ask him what's wrong and, you know, if a girl left him with some shit, right, give him some candy and give him some water and then have fun with him. Make that person have a good time, right? I think? I think being that light for others in that beacon, whenever everyone is lost, is a little bit of what I want to do too. So that's why, as an artist also now I'm performing at this stuff you don't see me always hanging out backstage and stuff. You'll see me walking around and interacting, because I actually like being in the crowd and also like, uh, helping bring everyone's spirits up, especially when there's like a local dj or something you know. Like it's a local dj. Not most people know who this is, so you want to hype it up for that person.
Speaker 2:Yeah, what's? What's one of the artists that you have, um, not grown up with, but who's some of the artists that you ended up collaborating with that you never thought you?
Speaker 3:would okay. Well, an artist that I've collabed with is, uh, really, really, um, I will always be open to us about everything, and so he helped me my mixing and mastering. Okay, because, uh, he taught me everything I knew, right from point a to point b, on how to produce and stuff. I've been producing professionally for probably like nine months. Okay, I started like maybe a year ago, right, and he brought my production level to a whole different level, like step by step, on what to do and morphing my own sound at the same time. And that man is roy knox. That guy is the legend. And, um, on top of that man, I have like so many idols that have like played my music out. Jessica Autofred actually played my like stuff out at EDC and at Wamuu Theater.
Speaker 2:So I was fucking stoked.
Speaker 3:That's fucking tight and so I was like, is this real life? I didn't go to EDC, but I was sitting at home and I was like watching the stream and then I hear my stuff. I was like, right, right, right, right, right, this ain't real life yeah, it's a good feeling, yeah it's like the best feeling in the world because, like me and like my friends are all hanging out. My girlfriend, yeah. And then we were just like what the fuck is happening?
Speaker 3:yeah so it's like you know it. It really makes me like really happy to see that my music has made an impact on others. Yeah, and people have messaged me like constant not constantly, but every once in a while uh, more leading up to dog days actually, too. They'd be like we're so excited to see your set, heard so many great things about you. Yes, and then, um, I think I had one time someone mentioned me saying your song actually saved my life, wow and it wasn't, it wasn't even a song, yet it was an edit right like a mash, like a mashup.
Speaker 3:And he said it saved my life.
Speaker 2:And I said oh my God, man, it's amazing, that's beautiful when you get those times like I get those messages a lot too and it's a different feeling.
Speaker 3:It's like wow, Like I really mean something to some of these people, oh, honestly, yeah, and it's why, like I mean, you'll see here, like I've been to so many festivals, oh my God. Hey, let's see, this is my dog days, one from the last one, and I had to keep it. This is so memorable to me, but, like each of these have a single memory that I hold dear to myself. I just gotta watch out, cause motherfuckers here Would like Not here, but like motherfuckers everywhere Would probably try to snatch this.
Speaker 2:Well, here too, this is Fresno.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it is Fresno it is Fresno.
Speaker 2:We grew up here, we're from here, so we know Okay.
Speaker 17:I didn't want to say anything, but yeah.
Speaker 2:I say it, I'm from here. So what's a message you would want to give back To Anybody? So what's a message you would want to give back to anybody else who's wanting to get into the DJ scene or the rave scene or ADM in?
Speaker 3:general. Okay, so if you want my advice on how to be an actual artist, my advice to you is be as authentic as possible. Yes, push yourself and do not give a fuck about the paperwork, yes, about what the labels say, anything. Push your shit out and someone will eventually see your passion, see your drive and give you a fucking chance. That's what I did. Yeah, I fucking so a big thing about my song. Um is uh lifetime this song here. Uh, I'm gonna play today. This song got fucking signed at the last dog days. I submitted it like maybe a week ago before dog days, right, and I got a response while at dog days.
Speaker 3:Wow, and it got signed that day. I did all the paperwork and it's just so special. If you don't mind, I'll grab Ari Kemmler. She's my vocalist, yeah.
Speaker 9:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So, if you want, I'll set out. You got it, got it.
Speaker 3:So, yeah, this is my vocalist, ari Kemler. We worked on Lifetime together and whenever I approached Ari, she was amazing. She has such an amazing voice, yeah, and at first I was like yo, I found her through my friend, aaron Shirk we're buddies, so I heard the song Change Me. When he released her, ari, I was like I need this vocalist today, pronto, right, right.
Speaker 3:And so I was like, okay, well, she may not reply, she may, but let's reach out. So I reached out to Ari and I was like, hey, I love your voice. It's really soothing and it really touches the soul, right, and it's amazing. I really want you to work on this track with me. Right, and from scratch, we made Lifetime, and the inspiration behind for me is, if you ever want to spend a lifetime with somebody, whether it be your mom, family member, a friend, or even like a dog, right?
Speaker 3:or pet right, right, or a cat. I'm a cat guy too. Yeah, okay, respectful, respectful so if you ever want to spend a lifetime with someone, that's, that's all, yeah, and I'll be trying to tell you you exactly what it meant to her, because she wrote these lyrics in a very, very special state, right.
Speaker 18:Yeah, I was dealing with some family stuff. My mom was dealing with health issues and just in that moment I realized I would want to spend a lifetime with her.
Speaker 18:And I'm in a very emotional, very vulnerable setting, I mean in the hospital room. I want to be in this moment and I wrote some of those lyrics in the hospital room. Just you know I want to. I want to be in this moment and I wrote some of those lyrics in the hospital room and, yeah, it's a really, really special song to me and it was so, I was so excited kung fu reached out to me and it's been amazing and it brought us here, which is fantastic yeah, this is just the beginning too.
Speaker 3:You know like I'm so excited for you guys to hear exactly what we've been working on.
Speaker 2:Yes, and it's crazy because you don't even know how many lives you're going to be changing with that song, right? I mean, look how far it's come now, but imagine how far it's going to go, imagine it being at EDC, right? It's going to be such an amazing feeling for you guys and I'm proud, I'm happy for you guys. Thank you so much I wanted to ask you what got you into uh vocalism oh, my goodness, I've been singing forever, um.
Speaker 18:But I recently found the edm scene um about four or five years ago, and I reached out to affinity at that point and was like yeah I was like listen, I'm this nobody, can you please give me a chance? And I I sat in my room recording covers of me with my guitar. I was like listen, here's what I have to offer, and he gave me a chance and that's brought me so many opportunities and just meeting some of the coolest people I've ever met.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, affinity, I would say, is one of my top people too, and friends also. Yeah, he's such a like loving guy. I remember meeting for the first time whenever I I played support opening up for william black at time Nightclub Really down-to-earth guy. The rest is history.
Speaker 2:This is just the beginning, ari we're on a path of greatness for a lifetime. 1,000%. What's the next biggest event you plan on?
Speaker 3:performing at Actually, it's already released the announcement on October 9th in LA I'm playing direct support going back to back with lockbox for cinemata. So I'm so fucking excited, yes and um, to make my la day be like that at academy, la it's. It's been like I can't even fathom, like what it's like man, like I'm feeling so many happy moments right now yes and then also being here.
Speaker 3:It's so surreal like this is like stuff I never thought I'd be doing and I'd never be able to do, but with the support system of my girlfriend and my team. Yeah, um, a shout out, deb, and I fucking love you, man. Um, and also ari, thank you so much for flying out to do this with me. And this is just the beginning absolutely.
Speaker 2:And then one more thing I wanted to ask you, so earlier we were talking about, uh, your sobriety right now. Congratulations on sobriety, but my biggest thing is is what do you have to say to artists who are battling with that, or people who are battling with sobriety, sobriety, bro.
Speaker 3:Okay. So here's the thing. It's all mental, all right. I was in the united states marine corps. I've been through the toughest of the tough, like I mean, fuck I got, I got a mark to fucking prove it. Um, but pretty much it's all mental. Find the right support system and you'll be okay. And, for one, find substitutes that don't help like, don't hurt at all, like, for example, like I quit vaping, I'm like 90 days clean. Now, in 56 minutes, my goodness, this is a 0%, nick, and it tastes exactly the same and I have to say I feel 10 times better.
Speaker 2:So I'd say the right support system and the right resources and you'll be okay 1000% agree with that man and I just wanted to bring that one up because I mean, even myself I'm the kind of person where I've battled addictions with multiple different substances.
Speaker 2:So it's good to get vulnerable, it's good to be able to um, reduce to the audience like, hey, sometimes you need to be sober to better yourself up and don't be afraid of it sometimes that's what you need to unlock your inner self, and especially being in the edc scene or in the edm scene.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry um, obviously, sobriety, I feel like, is a rarity to see or even hear so you know, hearing that coming from you, it's an amazing viewpoint, it's an amazing mindset that you have. Man, we're happy to have you on here thank you so much, man.
Speaker 3:It's been such a pleasure. Thank you everyone, thank you. Fresno thank you, broke Boys, and thank you so much, ari. So much for joining me on this.
Speaker 2:You guys got any final messages for Dog Days stream live time we just hit 113,. So much for joining me on this. Thank you guys. You guys got any?
Speaker 3:final messages for Dog Days Stream Lifetime we just hit 113,000. So I'm so fucking happy for that dude. It's been how long? Since May? Only a couple months, only a couple months. Yeah, oh my God Stream it. We fucking love you guys and stay tuned for more. Absolutely, ari.
Speaker 18:And don't give up on your dreams. You can be sitting on your carpet singing songs to yourself, and one day you'll be playing dog bass.
Speaker 2:Well said. Well, thank you everybody for watching this podcast. We're going to skip to the next one, peace.
Speaker 3:I guess my great piece of advice is never give up on your dreams and also keep on pushing, no matter what, because, like you never know where you're gonna end up. I mean living proof. We are here today at Dog Days Music Festival, and a year ago I was in my bedroom doing nothing.
Speaker 3:So let's say similar advice to vu uh don't quit because uh, when you quit, everything stops happening. If you just keep going, something's gonna happen. Might be slower than other people, sometimes it's faster, but uh, yeah, don't quit um, my advice would definitely be just to have fun.
Speaker 20:Uh, you know, money comes and goes, definitely. You know, be cautious, but don't stop yourself from doing the things that mean most to you, um, the things that you enjoy and find fun, because life is short, so make the most of it.
Speaker 5:What's the question? A bit. What's the question? Advice that you would give, uh, to everybody out there. Um, any advice that I would like to give is that, no matter how anyone perceives you or like, try to try to put you down for what you do, you just keep on going. Anything that anyone says, they're just trying to stop you from achieving your dreams. Like from here. This is such a big jump for boo. Dog days has totally given him an amazing opportunity, just from being on a second stage and jumping all the way to main stage on the second one. This is a wonderful opportunity for him and we're just as much as he is. I am grateful for it.
Speaker 18:My advice would be don't be scared to be vulnerable, because the rawest things come from that vulnerability, and you never know what you could create. You never know what someone needs to hear. It might just be the thing that you can bring out into the universe. So don't forget to be vulnerable.
Speaker 2:Don't forget to be vulnerable. Welcome back to another episode of the Broke Boys. I'm Martin, and today we got another special guest. Go ahead and introduce yourself to everybody that's listening and watching.
Speaker 21:Hi everyone, my name's Bella. I am Musty's girlfriend Gotcha gotcha.
Speaker 2:So we saw you, everybody was crowding you and I was just like I wonder who that is Might as well, just like see. And then somebody went up to you and we were like, okay, let's see, let's see where this goes, right, and thank you for being on and thank you for coming on.
Speaker 10:Yeah, thank you guys for having me. Yeah of yes. So what is the most exciting?
Speaker 2:thing you're ready to watch Musty perform.
Speaker 21:I don't want to give away any of the songs he's playing.
Speaker 2:yet you got to hide the sauce. It's all right.
Speaker 21:I'm excited for his entire set that he's playing tonight.
Speaker 22:Yeah.
Speaker 21:And he's also going to be at the clubhouse afterwards. Okay, at six, okay, but you have to have VIP to get into that one, but I'm so excited for both sets Okay absolutely.
Speaker 2:And then, on top of that, have you been to any of his other performances?
Speaker 21:Oh yeah, every single one.
Speaker 13:What's your most favorite one that you've been to?
Speaker 21:Oh, I would say my favorite one was probably last week at the Delta.
Speaker 2:At the Delta, okay, the Delta is super hot out here in Fresno.
Speaker 9:It is yeah.
Speaker 2:I've heard a lot and I mean I wish I could have gone. I haven't gone to a single one. I'm new to the rape scene. So, it's like definitely a time to be vulnerable and go in and try and experience it. But I'm glad we're here, glad to see Musty perform. Yeah, if we can get him on an interview on a podcast, that'd be amazing.
Speaker 21:So let him know yeah.
Speaker 10:I will definitely tell him.
Speaker 2:Yes, I think we've just been so busy because he was telling me I was reaching out to him, we were trying to coordinate something, but he had everything lined up and both things gone. So appreciate you for taking some time for coming on. Yeah, of course, thank you guys. So this is crazy. I mean, we've never done anything like this and for it to be popping and loud yeah, we're new to the whole scene, I am for sure. So what's one thing that I guess is the commonality out here for raves.
Speaker 21:I would just say like when you're out in the crowd, you could just feel that everyone is having such a great time and you just feel like an amazing human. You're like, oh my God, like I'm a human right now, like I'm just living. Everyone's having an amazing time and just enjoying the music and enjoying themselves.
Speaker 13:Right right.
Speaker 21:That's, honestly the best part about raving and the music.
Speaker 2:That's tight. I see that you have all your family here right. So that's my mom, my dad, come on, come on, ripley, say hi to the people.
Speaker 21:And then that is Musty's mom, right there too.
Speaker 2:Give her a shout out. Give her a shout out. This is my dad. What's up?
Speaker 8:that's right, I'm here for dog days.
Speaker 2:Amazing, amazing. And then, who is your favorite artist that's going to be performing here today? Musty dude.
Speaker 5:That's right, that's right, that's right, Exactly exactly, Musty. And then the Chainsmokers dude Okay, right, right. Favorite Chainsmokers song, oh yeah.
Speaker 21:What's your favorite song? Your favorite song. What's what's your favorite song?
Speaker 2:selfie, selfie, dude we listened to selfie like three times on the way over, brother. Oh my god, you know what? I can't wait to see him perform and I hope he performs it yeah, I'm gonna get a video of him singing his heart out oh yeah, I'll be right up front please, please, amazing.
Speaker 2:Right up front, jumping up and down, bro, that's amazing. And then being able to see your parents enjoying the music scene as well I feel like that's a rarity. I feel like there's a lot of disconnect between younger generations and older generations with sharing the similar music taste. Yeah, so seeing this is amazing visual. I love that so much.
Speaker 21:Yes, yes, I'm so blessed, too, to be able to have, like amazing parents that enjoy the same thing I enjoy, and be able to be here and support musty as well. Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2:What a beautiful circle I love it so much, but I know you've got places to be. I know Musty's getting ready to perform, so we're going to wrap this one up. Where can we find you?
Speaker 21:I will be right up front on the rails On your order.
Speaker 2:And go ahead and plug in your social so people can follow you.
Speaker 21:My Instagram is at Natalia X Bella Thank you and before you leave can you say?
Speaker 2:some encouraging words to the people that are listening, Something that you could say advice or anything that you've gone through.
Speaker 21:Okay, in the wise words of Pitbull, life is not a waste of time and time is not a waste of life. So let's get wasted and have the time of our lives.
Speaker 9:That's right.
Speaker 13:That's right.
Speaker 9:Wonderful.
Speaker 2:Thank you so much for being on the podcast Thank you guys. Nice to meet you, martin.
Speaker 25:Nice to meet you. Hey, I get a little nervous, eh.
Speaker 2:No worries, no worries, it's all good. All right guys. Welcome back here. Today we got a local vendor. You're from here, from the 559?.
Speaker 25:Yes, we're based here at a 559.
Speaker 2:Nice, yes, so go ahead and introduce yourself to everybody that's watching.
Speaker 25:Hi, my name is Susie. I'm co-owner of Agua Laranjanitas. We're based here on 559. We do caterings, I own it with my wife and we run a couple stands throughout the freshness. You guys see this.
Speaker 2:That's nice. What got you into selling Agua Fresca?
Speaker 25:Well it was actually my wife's idea to start doing Agua Fresca. I'm just behind the background, kind of helping out to like get into events. A little more shy on that part, and I'm pretty persistent. So I mean, we do pretty well.
Speaker 2:That's good. What got you started? Or your wife, when did?
Speaker 25:she was, like you know, fully invested into doing this she saw a little trailer and she was like I really want to do this and it's not well. We started with the cataritos, um, here in Fresno with the chamoy and everything, um, and then, uh, it kind of like just uh, we were able to be blessed to get into river park, so it kind of like helped us grow.
Speaker 2:Okay, cool. So where do you guys mainly go?
Speaker 25:places. It's a river park every tuesday and saturday, right uh. But we do uh farmers market in hanford.
Speaker 13:We do travel to, like uh dinuba, we do carnivals, uh caterings like quinceanera, so any type of occasion, yeah okay, cool what you got, moses I was gonna say, uh, suzy, uh, like, I've seen you guys do a lot of community events, like I'm out in sega and I know I was actually just always doing stuff like the fourth of july, uh festival, the farmer's market, uh, what part of the valley do you call home and like what? Like, uh what. What do you like about the valley and keeps you going and, you know, giving a service to people, like because your food, your, your hours is like, it's kind of like a service to the people so I I consider my home here Fresno.
Speaker 25:My wife is from Morosi, but more like Dinuba Park. Don't see, but I really feel like Fresno has so much to offer, like so much community, and I think doing this has really also helped, also because I come from like a. My parents own a business as well. So it kind of has helped me to also like get back to the community Like we do like the, like football games and like schools, and we get back to them as well. So it kind of like it's kind of like a win-win, you know.
Speaker 13:And how long have you guys been doing this for?
Speaker 25:We're going on our fourth year, I believe, and we are trying to open a second location, I believe, and we are trying to open a second location. I mean, we've been struggling with the first one but hopefully, well, you guys be able to visit us here in downtown.
Speaker 13:That'd be so awesome, that'd be cool. Appreciate it. So you're basically you're set like the values where I'm going to. I'm going to set my anchor and I'm going to grow here.
Speaker 25:Yes, I feel like Fresno has so much potential and it's growing and I mean it's like a big community, you know, and it feels like home. Honestly, I moved to. San Diego for one year and I just had to come back. I mean, Fresno is home.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and it's hard when you start and you want to go to a different city. My sister she's tried to do that and it's hard. It's a hard transition.
Speaker 25:I think it's like when you come back and like, it just opens like okay, you know what? Like what I was doing over there, I can kind of do it here to kind of help out, to like um, maybe like inspire somebody else that's scared to do something you know yeah, what keeps you guys motivated to continue doing, uh, what you guys do?
Speaker 25:well, we would like to eventually obviously open our locations and, uh, be able to like work from there. Um, I mean, we still want wanna be able to do like school. We really like the environments there and it makes me happy to also make other people happy.

But if y'all have one expectation after this, like what is something you can see changing?
Speaker 2:I think for me, for the fan base that I already have. It's always been all over the world. Now I feel like it's going to shift. My expectation is now it's going to be home. Now it's more people here. There's like a few thousand here, but it's going to be more. Because now people are like you know what? Oh shit, like you're from Fresno.
Speaker 5:That's crazy.

Speaker 19:The attention is crazy. Yeah, it's crazy, my goodness so what's your expectation right?
Speaker 19:expectations me yes yes, man, I want this shit to be so fucking packed when chain smokers go on. I want it to be like people all in the stands. I want people to be all over there. I just want it to be a better expectation. I mean a better turnout than anybody could expect it. I want it to be on cnn in the morning or monday morning. Be like yo. Chain smoker sold out and it was capacity at grizzly stadium, chichensee park in Fresno, california. That'll be my expectation. After that, I'm probably going to go to sleep for a week straight oh my God, on the beach.
Speaker 2:I'm telling you right now With my baby mama. That's so real, bro, and congratulations, man. That's going to be a great feeling.
Speaker 19:You're about to be a father, bro. About to be a father, about to be a father. Y'all my goodness crazy. Y'all mean we got a gender reveal slash baby shower, y'all both invited oh, we're definitely gonna do the whole podcast during it, I swear to god, I just do it I
Speaker 11:feel like we family.
Speaker 19:Like I told y'all I love y'all man. Like Much love bro, I feel like that's the biggest thing too. Like you can feel the love here, yes, like I really can. Like everybody you talk to Is a little bit more polite today, you know. And with that being said, I'm just looking for a real safe, safe, uh, safe, safe event. Yeah, that would be. My best expectation is just have a safe event, like even if this is everybody who end up showing up for the rest of the night, right, just have a safe night, I like that I like that.
Speaker 2:That's a great effect of that. So I mean, y'all see it, Y'all hear it. Y'all know the motion that we've been doing.
Speaker 19:Yeah about it. Let's talk about road to dog days, right right. Talk about when it initially got. Y'all got the word, what happened, and then like the motivation and then like how did we get here today? Oh my god, if?
Speaker 2:you don't mind, I go first. Yeah, go for it. So I think that the momentum was when, the first time that we had the episode with you, yeah, to talk about your movie, yeah, and then dive deep into who you are, that was when it shifted everything. I mean getting to know who you are as an individual, seeing your drive for the movie and everything happening. I mean you came, you came with us with open arms and we're like you know what I really fuck with you guys. I believe I love what you guys do and exactly, you said it yeah, you believe in us, right and uh, and I'll never forget when you said like you guys got so much potential and it was 11, 11, bro, crazy and it's just like if you know, you know no, no, yes.
Speaker 2:So it was just like at that moment. That's when I told dj. I was like this is insane, because I feel like a shift, right, right, right and it's coming. Something's coming yeah, I don't know what it is but something's coming.
Speaker 19:What did it feel like when we had to plan everything and we had to get like talk about that a little bit?
Speaker 2:I feel like a lot of it was just like all right, let's get straight into it. It wasn't like a should we, it's a no. How are we going to make this happen? So, seeing all that work, bro. It was just insane. But I think we might have to cut this episode a little bit short.
Speaker 19:We got some attention coming in.
Speaker 11:It looks like we got Johnny. Hey, yo Send him over here, send him over here. What's going down?
Speaker 2:What's going down? I'm here with Baby Gas and JD. Yes, sir Bro, let me tell you something real quick. I had such an amazing time with you, talking to you at Art Hop. You're so humble, you're so nice. I appreciate you and, man, the small interaction that we had when I was doing the interview with devin, that was crazy, bro, I appreciate you, yeah, yeah, no for sure.
Speaker 11:So tell, tell the viewers that I got going on about what you do and what you got going on. Uh, shit, I'm really. I came out here to come fuck with my god jd man. You know we got a dope record together. He invited me to come share the stage with him. You know that's, that's my craft. So I came through do some good sparring right quick. But most importantly, I'm out here with my podcast, me and my wife is out here tuning in with the fans getting fan interactions. That's tight.
Speaker 26:We need them in your podcast. Yeah, yeah, we gonna tune in, for sure. I appreciate that, I really appreciate that.
Speaker 11:I appreciate that for sure you hater man. There's a lot to go around for everybody.
Speaker 2:I appreciate that, yeah, Especially just because I'm a small boy from a small town. You feel me. But I'd love to get to know you guys a little bit more, man. So what started the whole career of music for you guys Struggle?
Speaker 11:Struggle, struggle, amen, struggle. That's the biggest motivation, coming from nothing. You know what I mean. Like I can't speak for everybody else, but when you ain't got shit, you know you find something Right, you know, and uh, just kicking it on the block With the OG's and everybody freestyling During these days it was a craft, I know. We in a different space. Right now Everybody has the comfort Of making music From their own home, you know, behind the computer, whatever it may be, but but when I first started, you really had to be outside.
Speaker 2:Right right, right, for sure, that's tight.
Speaker 26:Yeah, like that sunset kicked in and that's when you knew you were supposed to be back. Barbecues is on.
Speaker 11:Yeah, you know, pits is rolling, but man, you grew up in Oakland though.
Speaker 26:So, yeah, okay, I mean you know that. I mean I grew up in the city, elementary school to middle school Right Right Around that time nobody really going to fuck with you like that. When you get to middle school, though, and high school, people start testing your gangsta. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, for sure. I'm assuming that's probably a lot. You know what I mean.
Speaker 11:A lot of the differences, probably what happened while you were in Oakland, well, you, know, growing up Latino too, bro people not only tested your gangsta but they tested the bars. Yeah, that's the most. It wasn't very common To see Hispanic rappers Out there. So when they heard that you was rapping, you know we was Battle rapping still. Really, motherfuckers would Call you out Like man you rap.
Speaker 26:Meet me in the cafeteria, right, right right, it was on the crack and you didn't really have that shit back then For sure, even in the East Bay, I mean, I went to a school Named Mount Diablo and I remember being Hispanic and that motherfucker in the circle trying to throw some bars in that bitch that's right man.
Speaker 2:Y'all really putting on for the Hispanic community? That's crazy man.
Speaker 26:He's a double three, you know, salvadoran and Mexican. That's crazy, I'm half.
Speaker 2:Salvadoran as well.
Speaker 26:Oh really.
Speaker 2:My mom is from San Salvador. My dad is from.
Speaker 11:Jalisco yeah, so I'm Salvadoran, yeah, so you know, we out here putting on for the Latinos, most importantly, man, you don't got no pupusas out here. What the fuck? Nah, nah, I'm about to get my mom right now, tell her what to do. Well, you know what I think it's most important. You know that we push our people forward, absolutely. That's most importantly what we're doing here right now, pushing not only our music. We're getting ready. Tomorrow we're gonna be at the Oakland Coliseum Performing halftime show. You know, at the Oakland Coliseum.
Speaker 26:And that's a dream come true For anybody, right.

Speaker 2:Hell yeah, thank you Well, thank you guys for coming on Appreciate it sir. And before we take off, give the listeners some to them and something that you guys gone through personally just keep it going.
Speaker 17:Honestly, man, just don't be scared of the original. Just be yourself. Everybody's got a story to tell you know. I mean your story's important. There's a lot of people out there that need to hear it for sure.
Speaker 15:Just keep going uh, yeah, hey, uh, just keep working hard, do what you want to do, do what you love, and uh, you'll get there one day, hell yeah, yeah, absolutely well, thank you guys for being on man appreciate it.
Speaker 17:thank you guys for being on. Man Appreciate it, Thank you once again.
Speaker 2:All right, guys, we're back here, we're back live. Now please introduce yourself, man. You got the chain, you got everything. You got bling.
Speaker 14:You know what time it is, man, we shout out to Fresno. I'm straight out of Alabama, I'm Duquesne man. I do a lot of work out here in Fresno, california, with a lot of artists and entertainers, movie actors, all that shit. Yeah, that's tight, man. What else do you do, man? I do music, I do. I'm a philosopher, I write movies. I got my own TV show out called Ball to Rell. I got a lot of shit going on. Right now I got a new EP coming. Man. Stuff like that. Man Just working entertaining-wise.
Speaker 2:Amen, amen. So you came all the way out here to Fresno for the Dog Days.
Speaker 14:Festival man, something like that man. I got a little work out here. Okay, you know what I'm saying. I got a studio, one of my brothers, kay Fisher. He got his artists out here finna do their thing yeah, you know what I'm saying and a few that came to support him. So if his artists get to the next level, you know what I'm saying. Right, right, right, that's what we do. That's a real friend. Right there, brother, we support each other man, we support each other.
Speaker 2:That's what it takes to get to the next level. Right, that's a supportive friend right there, man.
Speaker 14:How do you know him, man? He from Memphis, I'm from Alabama. We met through the entertainment world by doing, you know, like At shows, right we came together. He like you from Alabama, yeah, you, yo, you like you from Alabama, yeah, you from Memphis, yeah, oh man, we from the South it's hard right there and it came together like that Right, and it built a friendship. Right, don't change, right you get what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:Okay, word, that's a beautiful story, man. I mean it's crazy seeing somebody from in the same area as you coming up, but you having, man, let's collaborate, let's work together instead of it being one thing, people got to know everything about partnership.
Speaker 14:Right, you feel me? Right, they ain't got no partner. Y'all ain't finna. Double up exactly. You get what I'm saying exactly. So the game about doubling up right, you get what I'm saying. So find your good partner you can work with, you can grow with, just like y'all two doing right, right, right, take two to tango man hell yeah, hell yeah.
Speaker 2:instead of it a competition, you found it as a teamwork, a team effort, yeah, most definitely yes, but always keep competition in your mind, right?
Speaker 5:right right.
Speaker 14:You get what I'm saying Because it's a game we play Right. So you always got to play to win, right. So it is a competition Right. But you don't have to envy Right. It's a partnership, a competition Right, and y'all can win together.
Speaker 2:Right, that's amazing. That's a great way to look at it, man. I feel like a lot of artists that are up and coming.
Speaker 14:they don't like to collaborate with other people, or they feel like, nah, like it's me, I'm the biggest.
Speaker 2:I'm this, I'm that. And the ego? Yeah, that's when the ego kicks in. Is it for you, seeing the level of status that you have now, to find people that are willing to collaborate here in the Valley?
Speaker 14:Hey, how I look at it, man. You got to have a closed mouth. Don't get fed, amen. When you come to events, open your mouth up, respond to the people that's around you, right? You never know who they are.
Speaker 26:Right.
Speaker 14:Exactly. You know what I'm saying. So that's how, how you? That's the answer to those questions right.
Speaker 2:Exactly that means a lot, man, because even today we're meeting with the other great people, legends like yourself, who've done, who've been in the part of this game for a minute. I mean, man, it's a blessing to have you on.
Speaker 14:Thank you for taking time for having me man shout out to y'all for real man, because there's too many guys willing to come together and make something happen for the community. That's major man and we need more of that. Y'all guys going to get big and blow up and everybody going to know who you is.
Speaker 5:It's going to be hard to get to you.
Speaker 14:So, they better network with you while they can Right now, hell yeah.
Speaker 2:Yes, sir, yes sir, and we appreciate that man because I feel like we're finally getting the recognition that we've been working so hard for right. Coming from the city of fresno, it's hard to get people to really support you, they say. They always say the people from your same hometown be the worst ones to try and support you hey, dude, I'm gonna put it like this yes, it's facts behind that.
Speaker 14:Yeah, because people who know you, yeah, they don't expect you to be great.
Speaker 2:Exactly you get what I'm saying, exactly the people who don't expect you to be, great, exactly you get what I'm saying Exactly the people who don't know.
Speaker 14:You see the greatness in you, right. You know what? I'm saying Right, but that don't mean you shadow those people out. You got to bring emotion to the game so they can respect it. Okay, word Word, like if you stay with your mom all the time and you don't work, she going to respect you Right. She going to tell your ass to get a job, exactly. So that's the game you have to look at it. That's how you got to look at it, right?
Speaker 2:Okay, it's a good perspective to look at it. Man, and that goes for any upcoming artist. Man, make sure that you're humble, make sure that you're not letting your ego get too far ahead of you. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 14:Because everything is egotistical.
Speaker 2:We are, we have ego. There's nothing wrong with ego. It's how you use it Exactly. That's a highlight right there, because a lot of people don't know how to utilize that. They think it's their ego, walking around with their chest popped out Be humble.
Speaker 14:You got to be humble. Humble yourself, but bring that motivation and show people who you are. You got to be motivated to be that. You know what I'm saying. So what?
Speaker 2:inspires you. If you had motivated to be that, right, you know what I'm saying. So what inspires you? What, what like? If you had one person to name as your biggest inspiration in life, who would it be?
Speaker 14:it'll be my, uh, my mother, okay, respectable. Yeah, my mother because she put in the work, yeah, right, and my father, right. But at the end of the day, my mother because she put in the work to give me a, put me in position to think right, and my, my father, put me to know how to do business. You know what I'm saying, so I appreciate both of them.
Speaker 2:That's who I look up to right, that's amazing man, that's amazing, and both of us can relate on that level as well I literally got my mom's name tatted on me right now for
Speaker 2:that same reason and a lot of it is just behind the fact of being able to recognize, like you know, what there's people in this life that have brought us, either brought us into this world and really put a staple in us, or people that we've randomly met and have really done a lot for us, but our mothers. Man can't, nobody replace your mom.
Speaker 5:They can't, can't, nobody replace your mom.
Speaker 2:You only got one mom. You only got one mom you only got one career.
Speaker 14:Yes, sir, it's one everything. Remember that it's one everything. You got one time to achieve, you got one opportunity and you got one time to love. So you got to know those things right there.
Speaker 2:And that'll help you carry on to the next step. You know what I mean. Exactly Because if you jump off the porch, I love that man, I love that we need to get another Interview with you.
Speaker 14:Man, whatever man, I fuck with my people who motivate the community. Man.
Speaker 2:Amen, brother, I appreciate it. It was a pleasure, happy to be on man. It was a pleasure, man, thank you.
Speaker 14:Hey, I appreciate y'all For having me man Absolutely. And y'all continue, y'all, greatness man Likewise.
Speaker 26:Where can we find you On social media?
Speaker 14:Duquesne CBD D-U-K-A-N-E Chill.
Speaker 2:Hell yeah, check them out, baby, look, look.
Speaker 14:Appreciate y'all boys.
Speaker 9:I appreciate you, man, for real, hey y'all. Hey Vin, hey Vin, hey Vin, hey Vin, hey Vin, hey Vin, hey Vin. I'm going to get you a drink. Is there no C4, or not?
Speaker 14:Ain't no C4 or not.
Speaker 24:There's no C4?
Speaker 2:Y'all be able to sit down, y'all be able to sit down.
Speaker 9:Yeah, yeah, all good, we're good, we're good, we're good, we're good, we're good, we're good.
Speaker 14:We're good, we're good, we're good, we're good, we're good, check, check, mic, check, mic, check. Y'all hear me good?

Speaker 2:You can follow me on the gram at real r-e-e-l hundred score, y-a-u-j three yeah, yeah, man, this means a lot, man, to seeing you guys coming out here and actually come and be a part of this. Like I feel very welcomed and honored to have an interview with you guys. So please you for having us man so please tell me what is something that you guys are doing right now, Projects, anything that you got going on.
Speaker 26:All right right now.
Speaker 11:shit, I got a lot of shit going on, so I'm going to tell you all a little bit about me.
Speaker 26:I'm Kay Fisher, the founder and owner of Real University, real Music Group.
Speaker 4:Real Management Group.
Speaker 2:We got the biggest recording studio in the valley, which is 10,000 square feet.
Speaker 4:We actually got a location out here in Tower District, Rob Markman.
Speaker 2:Really that's tight, yeah, and I actually got a record label and I actually signed artists.
Speaker 4:I got two Fresno artists actually.
Speaker 26:I got artists in Atlanta, florida, memphis. I'm originally from Memphis, tennessee, my boy right here in Texas, you know what I'm saying? Alright, he back and forth.
Speaker 11:To Cali. He definitely no family and shit Out here. But yeah, the projects we doing Is basically building this motherfucking empire, bro.
Speaker 2:I was signed to Atlantic Atlantic Records Back in 2019, 2020, all the way to 2022.
Speaker 11:Hell yeah, decided to reinvest a lot of my money into my label and real estate. So that's where I'm at with it now. Right, we actually sponsored the Hype Estate.
Speaker 2:Really. Yes, sir, that's tight man, yes, sir. So what a blessing, bro. What about you? What projects?
Speaker 4:you got going on, man, right now I'm working with Glow Rilla, I'm working on a project with her. I'm working on a project with on BHM Peasy, bellagang Cushington, all those different types of cats, man, oh God. So right now, what I'm actually doing, too, is I'm not only. I don't only have connects to Atlanta, memphis, texas. You know what I'm saying. Right now I'm branching out to everywhere, all 50 states. So, all my beats now is like open to everybody. It's going to be on everybody's computer. That's tight man.
Speaker 2:Hell yeah, type that in for sure. So are you guys from Fresno Born and raised? No, you're from Memphis, correct?
Speaker 4:Yes, sir, what about you, man man? I was actually born in California, but I went to Texas when I was a kid, so I grew up out there, from Vegas.
Speaker 2:All right, all right, but you guys came back here. That's incredible. That's incredible.
Speaker 14:Yeah, I came out here from college.
Speaker 4:Right, blessing up to get a little degree and shit. But then I came out here from Memphis with nothing. I came out. I came out there more vocal $30, bro, that's crazy bro. Well, I can say now I made a little fortune out here in California, bro. I'm well over six figures annually and it's comfortable.
Speaker 24:You know what I'm saying, so I tell folks, the main thing with grinding is stay consistent Hard for them to tell you can't do it.
Speaker 4:I feel like the big secret is consistency.
Speaker 2:If I would have bullshitted, the whole time, I wouldn't be consistent. That's beautiful man, that's beautiful, especially to find people that have that same mentality, of that dog mentality. You ain't going to outwork me, I come with nothing. Trust me. I relate to that I grew up in a fucked up household and I had to work in the fields. I was 13 when I was working in the fields Damn, and I was always working with my hands. To this day, I will always work with my hands.
Speaker 4:Absolutely. I don't stop. I can see them, the coins on them all.
Speaker 2:Hey, you like me. Hey, we work with our hands, bro, yeah, brother. That's how we are, bro Hard work and dedication. You just got to have that mentality, that dog mentality of like no, I'm going to start. I started this with nothing, not knowing where I was going to get myself into. I've been doing this for three years deep now. I like this shit.
Speaker 2:And now it's like okay, cool, I'm getting recognition from the town, I get recognition from outside, but now it's from team for the city. For the city, bro. I like that shit, bro. Keep doing your thing right. I appreciate that, bro. I appreciate that.
Speaker 4:Absolutely. You're doing your thing, bro.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we got to definitely tap in to get more of an intimate episode of Dive Deep into your guys' stories.
Speaker 19:Hey, yeah. And we'll be linked up.
Speaker 2:My door is open, for we can go anywhere.
Speaker 10:I got a room, I got a podcast room over there, so we good, we'll be tapped in.
Speaker 2:Give some encouraging words to the people that are listening. Man, I'll let you go first.
Speaker 4:man, man. Basically all I can do is piggyback on what he said Hard work, consistency and dedication to get you to your dreams. Don't ever let nobody tell you you can't do what you know you can do. Don Do what you know you can do. Don't ever let nobody put a cap on your ceiling. And that's all I got for y'all.
Speaker 14:Y'all stay up and what I got to say man is it's a saying I've been saying for years. I kind of made it up based off the label and it's basically saying what's normal to the fish is chaos to the bird.
Speaker 2:Y'all can take that back and think about it. That's all I got to say on that. Yeah, that's all I got to say on that.
Speaker 4:Yeah, well, I thank you guys for coming in, bro. I appreciate you guys, Appreciate you for having us man.
Speaker 8:I appreciate you one, two man.
Speaker 2:Welcome back, Adacious over here. Welcome back, welcome back, oh, thank you.
Speaker 8:Thank you, guys for having me.
Speaker 2:We were doing an interview with psychedelics.
Speaker 9:Right, we were just chilling, relaxing and next you know, all of a sudden I hear just boom, boom, it's you.
Speaker 2:We got the whole thing in the background of the first interview. The craziest show.
Speaker 8:I told you after the first fucking job drop I was gonna bring that energy.
Speaker 2:Oh you, you fucking brought it you fucking brought it dude and then you get on the stage, bro?
Speaker 8:yes, I saw that. Yes, uh, my last song was clarity and I so I was telling you about the bpms. So that song was like one to 130. I dropped it all the way to 150, dude, and I was jumping on fucking stage it was cool, it's a real feeling to be like on top, like that, like the headliner dude.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, it's good village.
Speaker 8:This is tight man what a beautiful vibe.
Speaker 2:Look at that.
Speaker 8:No, it's awesome summer ray's killing it right now yeah uh, tjr is next old head as well, but fucking, he brings it. I'm so excited to have him play man. Uh, yeah, man, you brought, you brought the vibe, you brought the vibe. It was so funny. I was talking to danny after me and he was like how do I go on after? That dude killed it that was like I'm so sorry, dude. He killed it though, though, uh, I gave him all his props and I was like bro so how are you?
Speaker 8:feeling right now, bro? What are your emotions on? Bro? Uh, tequila testing on top. I'm feeling great, definitely calm the nerds. But as soon as, like I said, it kind of sucked because, uh, my friends were saying they weren't gonna, they weren't letting anybody into, like 420, right. So, like people ran to my set and I was like I'm much, much love to you guys. I love you guys so much. Thank you, uh, but my set is out. I posted on my instagram so you guys check it out. Uh, I had already set ready to go, so I kind of tended to do that after I do my sets, I kind of just release it. Yeah, some people that didn't get a chance to hear it. We're gonna hear it now.
Speaker 8:I'm on soundcloud right oh my God, look at this, guys. It is what time is it right now? Man 7.10. 7.10. This is just the beginning. Yeah, Look how packed it is right now.
Speaker 2:Oh man, that's Center Park. We're just getting started, bro. The weather's getting cool. Yeah, Feels great out here. Yeah, I felt like we've been talking forever again.
Speaker 8:It's been three hours right, I feel like it's been eight.
Speaker 2:Like bro, when you're on stage, dude like the same thing, man like I was so thirsty. It was hot as fuck.
Speaker 8:Yeah, I can only imagine you getting up on the stage and just everybody uh, musty and I were like bro musty was dying too much love. He killed it as well. Yeah, we're hyping him up and he was like it's fucking hot up man.
Speaker 2:I was sitting there recording for blair, the captain and his whole set oh, blair killer. Good shit, brother, I'm watching the sweat drip off his forehead as he's performing I'm
Speaker 10:like me too, brother me too.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I feel it like he killed it, though. Yeah, he killed it.
Speaker 8:It's been going crazy uh, casamigo sage, over here, man vega, and uh, vulgar, you guys fucking killed it. There's no shade and one of his decks blew out, like it overheated, so they had to improvise. Yeah, wow, that was what I'm talking about, like with just real dj and real like on the fly, just fucking just.
Speaker 20:You gotta figure it out, you have to figure it out.
Speaker 8:We had a little bit of stutter on ours because it was so hot you can feel your vocal chops just kind of stutter really so you have to navigate around that, yeah, and that's just weather, that's just. You know, right, there's no way around it. We did have uh blinders so it kind of helped, but that's just something, nature, you know what I mean like that's crazy, yeah, so at least you guys made it work, at least it still sounded good I didn't notice anything.
Speaker 2:So yeah, that's the crazy thing.
Speaker 8:You guys will never know, but as a dj and the people behind there yeah marie, so thank you so much. He was like like you good, you good. And I was like, yeah, can I just get a fan up here, dude? He was like sure so while I was playing, he fucking put a fan and just pointed it at me. So there's so many things like underneath the deck and like underneath the stage, like what they do, and thank you so much. I appreciate it. Dude, you like this vibe or?
Speaker 2:oh yeah, it's definitely a vibe, but I feel like mentally, brother, right now I'm overwhelmed.
Speaker 5:I'm just like oh my god, it's a lot. What trust me?
Speaker 2:well, we had interviews with all kinds of people it's been a blessing. Don't get me wrong, but I am so like. Is this happening? Is this really happening, you know?
Speaker 8:now imagine three days of this.
Speaker 4:Oh man oh my god. Three days of this, oh man, oh my God. I don't know if I can handle that. I'm still recovering from Art Hop, not for real Art.
Speaker 5:Hop was a blast, guys. It was so much fun. The other night man.
Speaker 8:But yeah, three days of this man, that's crazy. And EDC and all these big events that we go to as ravers and it's been nice to like kind of share this vibe. They're looking at us like what the hell?
Speaker 2:You get a little bit of flavor of everything. Man, it's been amazing. And then seeing the EDM being right in the middle, I love that. I love that it gets everybody hyped up.
Speaker 5:If it's not their cup of tea.
Speaker 8:They go to the Hypey's.
Speaker 2:They're showcasing Summer Rae right now. Look at that.
Speaker 8:She's gorgeous guys, she is so gorgeous.
Speaker 2:And the crowd they're loving it Sun's down.
Speaker 8:Yeah, she's getting smacked down there right now. That's crazy.
Speaker 2:Because earlier, when I was there, it looked like half of the amount of people that were there are now. Yes, that's so wild.
Speaker 5:And it's Fresno, you know we're still waiting for the weather to cool down a little bit. Yes, so everybody can spend a safety's first.
Speaker 8:You know you're done. Oh, my god, uh, so tgr is next. Fucking love him, dude. Uh, he's got a beautiful sound. You guys are in for a real treat. Uh, I'm excited because the chain smokers are here. They're upstairs right now. Yeah, I'm trying to find them. I got, I bought a shirt. I'm going to autograph it. Just have a keepsake. All my uh dj buddies I have like, uh laminated, uh like t-shirts and hats and stuff by my artists, so I have them all kind of yeah it's a cool collection, man.
Speaker 2:That's it well, thank you. Thank you, audacious, for hopping back on.
Speaker 21:I appreciate it, we definitely gotta leave back up again.
Speaker 8:It was amazing bro, thank you for joining the set and thank you for, like you guys are so hyped for me. Of course, of course, of course, brother, we're here for you, I'm glad that the first episode that we were recording you're right here. Adesha has been with us all day. Yes, literally. I love you guys. I'll be here all night.
Speaker 2:Trust me Amen.
Speaker 8:Much love Peace.
Speaker 9:Have a good one.
Speaker 23:This is my very first interview.
Speaker 2:Really yeah.
Speaker 23:So I just look at y'all. Okay, I don't look nowhere else, right?
Speaker 2:That's fine, you can look at everybody else, okay. Okay, yeah, don't worry about it, don't feel the pressure, it's all just fun for us. So please introduce yourself to the people that are watching.
Speaker 23:I am Nicole Everything, your favorite social media influencer. I'm from here, the Central Valley, 559. So, I'm representing the east side of Fresno. I'm trying to take it all over the world, so they know who we are.
Speaker 2:That's right. Born and raised. Born and raised.
Speaker 23:But I left when I was 21. I went to New York and New York gave me so much gain Really. I just never wanted to come back. Really so yeah, but I ended up coming back and I just incorporated a lot of the things that I learned from the big city and just implicated it out here. So with my, content with with everything I post. Like it was a. It was a great experience.
Speaker 2:So I'm glad.
Speaker 23:I left and I'm glad I'm back.
Speaker 5:Welcome back home. Thank you From coast to coast.
Speaker 2:That's crazy, right. Did you collaborate with anybody out there in New York while you were?
Speaker 23:there I actually, when I was living out there, I was more like in the entertainment side of things. Just having fun and living life as you should, getting money Right. You know what I'm saying, so I made a name for myself out there and I met a lot of very powerful, influential people, so I'm glad I, you know, kept it cool and cutesy.
Speaker 2:And now I'm swinging back around and I get to deal with all these people that I met in the big city, being able to leave your home city and going somewhere else that to be a culture shock, right?
Speaker 23:no, no, it was a culture shock, but it was real easy for me, like I just felt like being in fresno, this was it's always been too small for me like I'm just really out there with my imagination and I'm really out there with my dreams and my ambition and I had to leave like our I.
Speaker 23:I had to leave, so it was very easy and everybody was like you know, new york is fast paced and this and that, and it actually was right my speed. I never had a hiccup. Uh, I never got ran over.
Speaker 2:I never, got slowed down and I just went with the flow and it worked for me, that's so cool yeah, I think that's the craziest thing too is because a lot of people I feel like when you're born and raised in Fresno and you've been here so long, you don't know anything different, right? So like I mean, I've been to Dallas, I've been to Phoenix, and when I go out there I'm like I don't know how to adjust to this. I don't know how to adapt, but you obviously had bigger goals and dreams and your lifestyle was just already used to what they had going on in New York. So that's amazing. That's a blessing. So what was your biggest takeaway from New York? What's one thing you definitely feel like you brought back home?
Speaker 23:That I brought back home.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 23:My hustle.
Speaker 10:Okay.
Speaker 23:There's no hustle out here.
Speaker 5:Okay.
Speaker 23:I wouldn't say this is a hustling place.
Speaker 13:Okay.
Speaker 23:It's everyday like something, so my name is Nicole. Everything right.
Speaker 9:Right.
Speaker 23:Because I'm doing everything.
Speaker 9:Right.
Speaker 23:I'm getting ready to drop a new single. I'm getting ready to play a leading role in a new TV series. I'm creating some of the most viral celebrity content from the west coast on the internet yeah, right I just wrote a book the first week of january um I just got my nail company sparkling, darling nails she really does everything um in a beauty supply store and then um, so, um. So I'm just managing everything. And um, I, that's that New York.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's so full that you got that mentality and I was just having a conversation with all of them is you have to develop that mentality of like hey, I don't want to make my bread.
Speaker 23:Right, if you want to succeed in life, you have to do the work, you have to speak that, you have to address yourself as that, you have to see yourself as that and you have to walk like that.
Speaker 2:yeah, and you can't see it any other way, and that's just what it is and that's what it is right. You know what I'm gonna try and implement that style. So you know what's wild is is do you have an inspiration that taught you that? I mean, other than new york, obviously, was a specific person that put that onto you you know what?
Speaker 23:I have a crazy backstory okay so I was adopted and yeah, I was adopted and the lady who adopted me I don't know what she saw in me, but she saw it. And from three years old all the way until high school I was I did tap, jazz, gymnastics, ballet. I was in the head of every play that was out, here I was married for every christmas play. I was just always that girl right, you know, and she, she instilled that in me.
Speaker 23:That don't quit, you're a star. If you reach for the moon and miss, you will still be among the stars. So she inspired my book.
Speaker 2:She just wow, shout out to your huge success and keep glowing, keep shining and again, like I told him, we're going to be tapped in because we would love to have you on and just tell your story, yeah, and hopefully motivate, inspire other people and that's what I want to do, because there's no limits like there is no limits and your mind is what's going to take you there.
Speaker 23:You got to have that belief that you will overcome and you will achieve.
Speaker 2:Amazing, beautifully said.
Speaker 23:Thank you.
Speaker 2:Thank you, nicole very much for being on here. Thank you, guys, for having me, of course. Again, we'll set something up, for sure We'll get that going.
Speaker 30:Thank you.

Speaker 30:I like the music is blasting right now. It is lit over here, oh yeah, so what is this?
Speaker 9:I'm just kidding, okay, they turned on the lights.
Speaker 2:Now it's kind of too dark. I haven't had the lights on because the sun was shining Not yet. But please introduce yourselves to everybody that's watching.
Speaker 30:Hi guys, I am Stacey Prado. I'm Nish. You're not the fuck one though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so tell me a little bit what you guys are doing. I know you said you were performing.
Speaker 22:Yeah, we're performing tonight on the Hyphy stage, of course. Y'all know Nish Litty, litty in the city, you know? Yeah, litty.
Speaker 2:Litty in the city. You know? Yeah, were you guys born and raised here in Fresno, or are you guys out of town?
Speaker 22:Oh, I'm actually from Fresno, born and raised For sure, I've lived out of town, but nah, I'm from Fresno.
Speaker 2:Oh, you're from Fresno. Yeah, that's good. That's good to hear, man. And what about you? Are you? I'm?
Speaker 30:from the Philippines, but obviously Fresno is my hometown, for sure.
Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly, I'm glad you guys came on. Please tell me a little bit of background about each other, where you guys come from, since you're from Fresno. Where were you born? Sorry, where did you grow up in?
Speaker 22:Oh well, I grew up on the east side, Butler Park to be exact. Everybody know Butler Chestnut area. I always been over there my whole life until I got older and moved out. And where'd you go? I moved in my own place and I live downtown, but other than that, I've been in Butler Park my whole life. My grandmother owns a house there, so she bought a house in 72. And basically it's always been like the family home.
Speaker 2:Everybody's from there. That's so tight. What about you?
Speaker 30:I'm by central east. I don't know which side that is on, but that's where my but it's somewhere yeah, I just been, you know, chilling that's good.
Speaker 2:So what got you guys into the music industry was something that you guys would love to do. Is there something that was like a side thing?
Speaker 22:For me it was like a side thing. So I just started rapping. Like three years ago I just decided I'm going to make a song. I didn't know where it was going to go. It kind of went viral on TikTok.
Speaker 12:Perfect.
Speaker 22:Everybody started doing it. I made up a dance to my own song, so everybody started doing the dance, and then I did an open verse challenge. Everybody started doing that. So I've been on the rise ever since. I've been on every stage.
Speaker 2:Keep riding that wave.
Speaker 22:Keep going. I got my own sound.
Speaker 2:As you should. What about you?
Speaker 30:I love singing and songwriting and recording and making music. I love performing. So I got a couple singles out right now Under Stacey Prado EY you know Stacey with an EY, but yeah, no, I love being under real music as well. So they're a really good team. They're very professional, so they're just definitely putting me in the right positions and giving me this opportunity. Like we are about to perform at the Hypey stage pretty soon, so check us out.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, we got to stay tuned. I got to go watch this for sure, check it out. You guys have such an amazing energy. I appreciate you guys being so very open and so very cool. So for you guys as up-and-coming artists, what are some of the challenges that you guys face?
Speaker 22:I don't know it's kind of been great for me. So I can, for the most part, I can say like the challenges for me would be like the guys that try to talk to me, like you know, like hey, get the fuck away from me, right it's like no strictly music but other than that, like it's kind of been great. Like I've been performing, I've been in books like city and different cities states, like you know, so it's been going great, especially for just being in the beginning yeah and I'm like the new artist that they're signing into the rail music group, so I'm like, I've been around him.
Speaker 22:He, let me remind you, he records all my music okay, so he's been recording all my music, all my singles, my my ep, everything he's been recorded by him. So we kind of built a relationship over time and now I'm comfortable to sign.
Speaker 2:So we're going to, you know it's going to be a home run. We're going to hit that. Congrats, how about you?
Speaker 30:I can't even think of any challenges right now. I mean, everything is a challenge, Life is a challenge period, so I just like to overcome whatever comes my way, like there's always going to be problems but we have to solve them anyway. You know what I mean but, yeah, you know, challenge is life. You know, challenge is life growing up being a dog, yeah that's so cool man.
Speaker 2:So I I would love to dive deep into each of your guys' stories because I do my episodes that are very an hour 30 minutes long to dive in deep to your story and I like to interact Like we're out here, so it's very quick. So we'll definitely link up. And we'll do something more intimate for you guys. Okay, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 22:It was really nice meeting you it was really nice meeting all you guys.
Speaker 2:Thank you so much, thank you.
Speaker 22:If you're thinking about doing it, just do it Like I just did it. I didn't know how it was going to go and it worked for me. So if you're ever thinking about doing something but you're not sure about it, just get up and do it Like, do it, you got this, you're going to get there, do it Hell yeah.
Speaker 30:I would say just do what makes you happy, do what you got to do, do what you gotta do, do what makes you happy. You know, follow your bliss, you know.
Speaker 2:Yep, thank you guys for being on. Thank you, I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 22:Thank you for having us on.
Speaker 2:No, thank you Woo.
Speaker 7:Hear me good, y'all hear me good. Yeah, I hear you.
Speaker 9:I hear you I hear you, I hear you, I hear you, I hear you, I hear you, I hear you, I hear you, I hear you.
Speaker 2:We're here with one of the biggest comedians here in the Central Valley. Hey, good looking, bro.
Speaker 24:Go ahead, introduce yourself to everybody that's watching hey show boy stand-up comedian Isaiah Watson, and I'm here with my girl from All Things Fresno Introduce yourself.
Speaker 28:Hey, I'm Nisha from All Things Fresno Showing love to All Things Fresno in the 559.
Speaker 2:I saw all your stuff that you were doing for his show and I was like, oh, I love this and I started following your page.
Speaker 28:Oh, I appreciate that. Thank you, I love all the times. Thank you.
Speaker 2:So what are you guys doing? Today I saw you guys walking around doing interviews.
Speaker 24:Yeah, we're just out there getting people's vibe for Dog Day, seeing how they like it and stuff, Just trying to vibe with the community out there just having a little fun.
Speaker 2:That's tight man. That's good. I'm glad you came.
Speaker 5:Yeah, for sure bro Stop by.
Speaker 24:Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2:How's everything been? How's the comedian scene?
Speaker 24:Oh man, it's been pretty good man. The comedy scene in Fresno is growing little by little with more shows out there. You know they're starting the show out at 12 States on Wednesday they got Strummers on Tuesday, the Chigos Wednesday night to an old town club and the scene getting better and everybody's working hard. And I'm just trying to like put on for the city man, when it comes to comedy and when it comes to just like community in general, you're doing a lot of skits.
Speaker 2:I see your skits all the time, man.
Speaker 24:Oh yeah, for sure Good looking bro.
Speaker 2:I appreciate that. So what got you guys starting to work together Both of you guys, Well do you want to answer that one?
Speaker 28:Well, originally I just started coming out to the scene and following artists and originally it was stand-up comedians and so of course he was the shining star. So we met up and I just wanted to know what he was about, what he was doing, and just really show him love for the love he's showing to Fresno. And then, yeah, I kind of just lost it from there.
Speaker 24:Yeah, the thing too, like behind the scenes. She does a lot of stuff, a lot of. She organizes a lot of events in Fresno, works with a lot of artists with hip hop artists, comedians, just like regular artists, and she helps build shows around the community. So it's really dope to have her involved. And and also, you know, this is my girl right inside.
Speaker 2:She's doing shit. That's good, man. It's so glad to hear people being on and putting on this. There's a city, um. A lot of people have been giving me feedback too for being out here. Yeah, this is all incredible. These are all great things that we're all doing, yeah, and hopefully this this further helps the community here in fresno to continue doing something else.
Speaker 24:I think, think an event like Dog Days man, especially they letting a local artist perform and they're, like you know, devin's part of the community too. So it's like it's really dope for Fresno to have a big headliner come out like the Chainsmokers and bring people out and show that Fresno got stuff to do. A lot of people complaining and stuff. But it's like nah, man, we're doing stuff, five people locally making dope events like this. So this is very dope.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I appreciate that.
Speaker 24:I appreciate you guys' time.
Speaker 2:I know you guys are busy going around so thank you for coming on and we're getting ready for your episode.
Speaker 24:Oh yeah, we're going to do a full episode, so I can't give you all everything, but we appreciate what you're doing. Man for the community, put it on. This is going right here. Live in the most.
Speaker 17:You're hearing it. You can hear it in the background. Hell yeah, bro.

Speaker 22:Selma, that's cool.
Speaker 30:I'm a Fresno fan, I but it's close by we'll keep you out my family's from Selma, California. So yeah, Fresno, Selma that's cool.
Speaker 2:I'm a. Fresno baby at heart. So what do you do? What do I do? I used to work in the fields when I was 13. I did that for 11 years and now I'm a truck driver, so now I get a little bit more money.

Speaker 2:Yeah, this is my side thing. I love it, I enjoy it and I have a fan base and seeing everybody interact and coming through like it means a lot. So there's definitely something big that I want to continue doing for the community, so I appreciate you guys for coming on. And.

Speaker 10:Real good. It's been a long time I see you since high school.
Speaker 2:I know you look real good, and you too, man, how have things been? You been busy. You been working.
Speaker 10:To be honest, I've been working with commercial flooring, but it's kind of slow because you know construction, yeah, but other than that it's kind of going smoothly.
Speaker 17:I'm looking for another job. Yeah, all you got to do is keep looking forward, be positive. Like I said to everybody, the road's a shitty place, but it's beautiful from a different perspective.
Speaker 6:Yeah, you got to look at it that way, I love when he says that to everyone.
Speaker 18:I'm just like yes, this is well for everyone.
Speaker 2:That's beautiful. I'm glad you guys are here.
Speaker 20:Say some inspirational words for the people that are listening and shout out whoever you want. Oh my God, I don't know.

Speaker 12:Basically all my family from high school.
Speaker 2:Yeah. Yeah. Real close. Yeah. We got to turn this back.
Speaker 17:That's all we got to do, yeah yeah, that's how it's supposed to be when someone's down. You got to, you know, talk them up.
Speaker 16:Lean on one another yeah, yep, it might be hard, it might be tears.
Speaker 2:But hey, we got shoulders. Yeah. That's all we got, we got.
Speaker 20:you're like blanking yeah, I'm blanking right now. This is blowing my mind right now that's okay.
Speaker 2:Well, thank you guys for being here, thank you guys for stopping by. I love seeing you guys and I know you've been. You've been completely changed your course of life and I'm so happy that you're you're thank you I appreciate that yeah, thank you guys. Oh yeah, thank you for having us all. Righty brother, nice to meet you. Welcome to the broke boys podcast. Uh, what's your name?
Speaker 29:go to introduce yourself, my name is caleb brother, pleasure to meet you. I go by goofed apparel though. Okay, what do you do? I do clothing, I do art. Uh, more like street apparel. I'd have to say, yeah, okay, word.
Speaker 29:And then, with that being said, what, like? What inspired you to do art? Honestly, I've been doing art since I was like a child, bro. Okay, okay, I mean like, but coming to it like high school era, like I started going into digital design, right, and I was like you know what? Like, let me start making clothing, let me start making stickers, because I tell me when they see my art and tell me that I have my own design or like my own art style. Yeah, ear to ear, bro, with a smile, because it's just like it's amazing knowing that, like you aren't somebody that's like copying or like being like a part of some like trend, like you are starting a trend and that, right there, like it's mind-blowing to me and that's the thing, is a lot of people it's easy to mimic somebody else exactly to be able to create art on your own.
Speaker 2:No, literally no sketch, it's literally just coming from your brain. That is the wildest thing ever. Me personally, I'm not a very artistic person, so I, brother, if you ask me to draw anything, I'm telling you it look like a four-year-old druid.
Speaker 29:I cannot draw for the life of me. I'm gonna let you know right now, coming from like a brand artist or just an artist in general, the people that tell me that they don't like to draw or they don't know how to draw like, in a sense, like it upsets me because it's like bro, I've seen artists that have sold a canvas with like one red dot for four million dollars. So it's like it doesn't matter about if you think you can draw or can draw Like. It's the matter of how much emphasis and love you're putting into it.
Speaker 17:All right, Yo come on bro.
Speaker 2:This is fucking you, bro, anyways, yeah.
Speaker 29:Throwing like your love into it. That's what makes everything like art. Like you throw love into, like when, what you're making, like in food, right, that's what makes it art, anything that you would see as art. You know you're throwing something that you are inspired or like you love and you want to throw that onto something that somebody else can see. Exactly that right, there is like I love it, bro. So it's like stick figure or not.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't give a shit, bro, what you make it as long as you loved it and you put love into it, right?
Speaker 29:that, right there, makes me respect you as an artist that's amazing.
Speaker 2:You have a great personality and a great persona in that, and I say that because there's not a lot of people who are humble enough to be like anybody can really do it. It's just what you put your mind to and how you look at it. Me personally, I've always been super negative about my artistic style because I'm like I've seen other artists and I see what I make and I'm like I'm not going nowhere with this bro, that's where, like, everybody goes into it.
Speaker 29:It's like the way I like to see it as an artist. Personally, you're your biggest critic. Yes, you're going to always be your biggest critic. That is true, there's times where I see something, and this is what made me realize that whoa one man's trash is another man's treasure. That right there. You may personally not like it, but somebody will walk around a personal way, exactly. That's amazing man.
Speaker 2:Hey, listen man, you've been a great person on stage. It's crazy seeing you come out have you been on a podcast before? No, never have, oh my god bro, you're a fucking natural, so where can we find you, bro? You got any like instagram handles, yeah, uh goofed apparel on instagram.
Speaker 29:Okay, I haven't made myself a website yet. I'm working on it right now. Okay, but goof to peril, I have my uh snapchat, which is caleb jalapeno. Okay, hit me up wherever. I mean. I like to do more like personal business rather than like I'm just selling it to you from somebody else, like I like it to know, like it's me and you, right now, right while I'm selling you a t-shirt, right like, so that's real.
Speaker 29:Yeah, so I like personal connections yeah, exactly you're more about the personal connection rather than the sale. My quote is I'd rather have myself a friend than a customer at the end of the day, because that right there it's like they're going to bring other people to you. You know, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2:That's amazing, brother. Listen, I hope what you're doing blows up. You're a really humble guy. We would love to have you on a podcast later on. Dude, let the podcast later on dude, let me know, obviously we're here celebrating dog day.
Speaker 2:Shout out, dog day, shout out. Devin digimeds broke boys podcast. Y'all go check my boy out, man, his artwork y'all haven't seen it yet, but his artwork is crazy. Show him the back, show him the back. Right there, right there. That is all made by him. All glows in the dark, by the way, too crazy brother. So, with that being said, tap in with him, get his handles.
Speaker 11:Peace, thank you so much Hell yeah.
Speaker 9:I'm going to go find my friends, hell yeah, all right ready.
Speaker 2:How you doing, man you ready? Ah, yes, you best believe it, I'm ready.
Speaker 26:Yeah, you best believe it 'm ready. You hear me good. Yeah, you best believe it.
Speaker 2:All right, yeah all right, welcome back to another one with the brook boys right here, with the legendary nico vargas. Let's say that again, say that again.
Speaker 26:Oh my gosh thank you so much.
Speaker 2:Oh man, this is something that I've been looking for a long time and, even though the chain smokers, I cannot wait to hear that song. Yeah, I was something just like this. Or even that song. What was that?
Speaker 2:I mean recently, that something like this oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean recently. There's something like this song Yo yo yo. Recently, something just like this song, bro. There's a lot of meaning to it. Honestly, I cannot even describe how. And on the way home, yeah, I cried to that song because once I read the lyrics on the way, I'm like you really spoke to me right there. Who was that?
Speaker 2:lead singer of Full Play. I can't remember his name. I don't know his name. I don't know I'm sorry, I'm not a full play fan but anyway, oh yeah, bear with me if y'all see these glasses here you are vibing, you are like. Is it the lights from the stadium, or is that the glasses?
Speaker 26:I got them from another event over there. I'm not gonna say how much, I'm not gonna say who's. I was like is it the lights from the stadium or is it the glasses? Those are fire, bro. You're ready for?
Speaker 2:the rain. I got them from another vendor over there. I'm not going to say how much.
